Robinson had just delivered a 65 that
scorched a field of 117 players by
six strokes in a Connecticut Amateur
qualifier.
Fast forward to May 12, 2014
and US Open qualifying at Farmington Country Club. Once again on fire, Robinson (above left) checks
the scorecard that documented his 66. In a strong field of amateurs and professionals (including 2013
Connecticut Open champion Jeff Curl, who advanced with 69), Robinson claimed medalist honors by
three strokes.
Robinson concluded an outstanding freshman year at Marshall University in Huntington, West
Virginia this spring as he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team. The South Windsor
native who plays out of Ellington Ridge competed in every tournament for the Thundering Herd, and
compiled the lowest freshman scoring average in school history at 73.21 over 28 rounds. In just his
third college start, Robinson won the Patriot Intercollegiate. Following a pair of 72s he caught fire in
