Off the Course
Southern Arizona might be famous for it’s golf, but did you know its also
the “Astronomy Capital of the World”? It has some of the clearest skies
in the U.S. - about 350 nights of viewing a year. Tour some of the world’s
most-respected observatories and enjoy the same “good seeing” as the pros.
The Mount Lemmon SkyCenter, a short drive from Tucson, offers tours and
an evening observatory where visitors observe astronomical objects with a
research quality telescope and the guidance of a professional astronomer.
