On Tuesday the 30th of June, class 9WH2 went on a history trip to the Industrial War Museum as a reward for the hard work they have produced this year. The Year 9 students found out what happened in World War I, discovering interesting facts about it.

Firstly, the Year 9 girls went to the Imperial War Museum to look at the amazing historical monuments. They dived back in time as they discovered the sights, sounds and smells of the Blitz and learnt about the saddening and terrifying experience of how it it was like to live on the homefront in World War I. Also, they were lucky enough to peer at a few historic battle warplanes and even letters that were rescued from and to soldiers in the trenches. Later on, they roamed through the art gallery to examine historic pieces of artwork created in the early 19th century.

The Year 9 students learnt a bit more about their countries of origin.

After exploring the Imperial War Museum the Year 9 students went to Greenwich park to bask in the warming sunlight and relax. Mr. Taylor introduced an old-fashioned game called French cricket, which was very enjoyable.

The students had a very enjoyable time and want to thank Mr Taylor for organising the trip.
