He said I knew love and it knew me,
There’s no mistaking a love everlasting.
He said I’d sure experience love again,
And after that world I’d again see him.
With a final ‘I love you’, he bid me so long,
And I soon returned to my world once known.
I vowed to forever bellow love’s song,
And to forever show the love I’d known.
Lashes fluttered and I opened my eyes to day,
The faces I loved looked on in complete amazement.
Mom said, “Our wish came true this Valentine’s Day.”
“Could it be, oh thank God,” my dear dad exclaimed.
With a smile as bright as the sun outside,
I remembered my dreams of my love and I.
Entering the room the doctor couldn’t deny,
He was witnessing a miracle before his eyes.
“I was certain today would be her last,
Looks like my verdict came too fast.
I was certain her blackout would amass
To a permanent state of unconsciousness.”
In awe he gazed on, all doubt amiss.
My loved ones were bound in hope’s arrest.
They asked what I had to say for all of this,
I said “God is love, and my love’s in His.”
