.

Within seconds our lives came to a halt.

The sweet of our youth crumbled as salt.

Though our physical bodies were undone,

The bond of our souls remained unharmed.

Even the fittest of us can lose the race against time.

But we forget the potency of our heart and mind.

Your tender hands can no longer feel mine.

But I can still feel your touch when I close my eyes.

I’m unconscious to those who now see me,

Yet I’m fully aware and present in my dreams.

Is that you I see love, your smile beaming,

Whispering Good Morning to a somnolence unmoving?

The first night you kissed the depths of my dreams

You led me to the edge of Heaven’s streams.

We swam tirelessly through waters that gleamed,

Then we embraced under the moon’s softest beams.

You said, “I’ll come to you again tomorrow”,

I’ll come to you until you shake this coma.

Each night I’ll share a piece of my world now,

I’ll present you with joy so you feel no sorrow.

You took my hand and we gently kissed.

Looking down I rose from a lifeless carcass

To a place of eternal peaceful bliss.
