Alcovy, Eastside and Newton’s
soccer teams all came together
Wednesday evening at Sharp
Stadium to honor the memory of
Carlvon Betts, who passed away
two weeks ago in a car accident.
Between the boys and girls’
games, Newton Athletic Director
Tracey Curtis presented Carlvon’s
parents – Carlton and Tracy Betts
– with a package that featured
some of Betts’s best photos and
NHS principal, John Ellenberg,
announced that the school would
be retiring Betts’s jersey.
