Camps during difficult times
Here’s a look at just a few of the camps made available to
help area youth get through difficult times, and try to resume life and “normal” children.
Camp Blue Skies Georgia, a week-long recreational, educational and social experience for adults with development
disabilities, ranging from Down Syndrome to autism.
The five-day, four-night event was held at Camp Twin
Lakes from March 16-20 in Rutledge.
Camp Twin Lakes was established in 1993 to provide a
place for children with serious illnesses and life challenges
to experience the joys of childhood and grow in their confidence and capabilities. The camp works with more than
40 different organizations to teach campers to overcome
obstacles and grow their confidence.
