ALCOVY SOCCER PUMPED FOR PLAYOFFS
Alcovy soccer finished up regular season play on Tuesday against Salem. After leading for most of the
game, the Tigers let up one goal and finished in a draw with Salem 1-1. With a somewhat depleted team
due to injuries, the Lady Tigers fell to the Lady Seminoles 4-2. Coach Anna Hebert and Chris Edgar speak
on their respective teams outlook for the playoffs in the above videos.

Rockdale owns festivities at
NewRock All-Star game
Rockdale County edged Newton out in three of the five All-Star events
on Wednesday evening, as the Rockdale girl All-Stars won their game
while representatives of Salem (Shay Tarver) and Heritage (Rashad
Jones) won the three-point contests. Eastside’s own Timothy Haynes
won the dunk contest with a high-flying slam over two Alcovy players
and the NewRock boys All-Star game ended in a tie after overtime.
Ayanna Mitchell was named MVP of the girls All-Star game where she
totaled points. Rockdale’s Dwayne Brown and Newton’s Malik Wilson
were named Co-MVPs of the boys All-Star game. Brown finished with
20 points (17 in the first half) while Wilson led Newton with 21 points,
making five threes.
