The Coshocton Planetarium is presenting a planetarium show produced by Ball State and the Charles W . Brown Planetarium in Muncie , Indiana . The show is titled “ Halloween : Celestial Origin .” The original script is by Dayna Thompson and Ronald Hicks with an original score by Luke R . Mitchell . This program was purchased for the

Coshocton Planetarium by a local donor .

Halloween is an astronomical holiday . Learn the history of Halloween and how it fits into the seasons as a “ crossquarter day .” Find out about the Gaelic festival Samhain and how it is related to present-day Halloween .

In the fall many will have bonfires and roast marshmallows . Find out how this is related to bone fires . Explore the night sky and learn which planets , constellations and stars will be out on Halloween night . This show is appropriate for age 10 to adult .

The dates for the showing of “ Halloween : Celestial Origin ” are Oct . 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 , 18 , 19 , 27 and 28 . All shows will be at 7 p . m . Reservations can be made by going to www . Coshoctonplanetarium . com or the Coshocton High School website and clicking on planetarium . They need at least 10 people for each show for it to be presented . Due to the pandemic , they are required to have social distancing in the seating , thus reducing the audience to 25 . Families may sit together . All in the planetarium are required to wear a mask .

Students at the University of Findlay recently received a crisp white lab coat at the College of Pharmacy ’ s White Coat Ceremony .

The ceremony signifies the students ’ entrance into the third year of the six-year program , which is the first year of professional courses in the college of pharmacy .
