Fall into a mystery at the library

Sept . 15 would have been the 131st birthday of renowned author and “ Queen of Mystery ,” Agatha Christie . To kick off her birth month celebration , the Coshocton Public Library hosted a virtual showing of “ Inside Agatha Christie ’ s England ” on Sept . 1 . Provided as a partnership program with WOUB Public Media , the program explored the places across Europe that inspired Christie and the secret origins of her most famous works .

Cited as the novel that made Christie the “ bestselling novelist of all time ,” “ And Then There Were None ” is the adult book club selection for September . The novel follows 10 people to an isolated mansion on an island where they are cut off from everything but each other . One by one the guests share the darkest secrets of their wicked pasts . Haunted by a nursery rhyme counting down one by one , they begin to die . Which among them is the killer

Offered as a companion program to Bookmarked , Film Fanatics features the film versions of the book club selections . The discussion of the 1945 film , “ And Then There Were None ,” will be held Tuesday , Oct . 5 at 6:30 p . m . As with Bookmarked , both in-person and virtual options will be available . In addition to “ And Then There Were None ,” several of Christie ’ s other novels are available to borrow from the Coshocton Public Library and West Lafayette Branch . Also , any of her 66 detective novels can be placed on hold and borrowed from a library within the shared consortium . For eBook and audiobook versions , check out the Ohio Digital Library or Hoopla Digital .

What else is coming up at the library this fall ? Staying on theme with Christie ’ s mysteries , Horrifying History of Coshocton will explore the horrific side of Coshocton history , recounting well-known murders and sharing details of the lesserknown . This program will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Tuesday , Oct . 12 at 5:45 p . m .

The next Trivia Night will be held Wednesday , Oct . 20 at 6:30 p . m . in the large meeting room of the Coshocton Public Library . Trivia questions will be Halloweeninspired , and costumes are encouraged .

Last but not least , a murder mystery night will be held at the Coshocton Public Library on Saturday , Oct . 30 at 6:30 p . m . Horror in the Stacks

will have participants trying to solve the case of a famous horror author ’ s murder .
