111th annual Warsaw Alumni Banquet held
The 111th annual Warsaw Alumni Banquet was held Aug . 21 at the Coshocton Christian Tabernacle with 157 graduates , guests and former teachers registered . The honor classes were 1945 , 1946 , 1950 , 1951 , 1955 , 1956 , 1960 , 1961 , 1965 , River View 1966 and River View 1970 .

Bee Buxton Lehner , RV ‘ 66 , presented gifts to Don Balo , ‘ 48 ; Weldon Mortine , ‘ 48 ; Julia Young Fields , ‘ 49 ; and Marcella Hoberg Fisher , ’ 49 , as earliest graduates present , as well as to Bill Thompson , ‘ 54 from Vero Beach , Florida , for traveling the farthest and Gary and Susan Binford Haines , both ‘ 56 , as longest married ( both Warsaw gradates ) present .
President Jack Berry opened the evening ’ s events with the Warsaw Fight Song , led by the Warsaw Alumni Committee members , with Jeanne Tarrh Kilpatrick , ‘ 63 , playing the piano .
Jim Lawrence , ‘ 57 , shared background information on the growth of the scholarship program and announced the scholarship selection committee , which includes himself , Bee Buxton-Lehner , Mary Ann Conrad Gill and Jean Davis Haumschild . A total of $ 6,364

was contributed to the scholarships in 2021 . Since 1992 the association has awarded more than $ 130,000 to River View graduates who attended Warsaw school .
The following received the Warsaw Alumni Scholarship Awards of $ 1,000 : Malek R . Better , Ruth A . Cameron , Aleigha M . Hardesty , Erin M . Wilson and Kennedy R . Wright .
The Cloduagh Brenneman Cline Scholarship of $ 1,000 went to Bailey A . Bowman . Cal Shrimplin earned the $ 1,000 Davis Family Educational Grant . Carolyn D . Cox received the $ 1,000 Richard and Mary Daugherty Lawrence Scholarship . Gavin C . Donnell was awarded the $ 1,000 Conrad Family Memorial Educational Scholarship . Macey E . Geog received the $ 500 Buxton Family Memorial Scholarship and the $ 500 Walker Memorial Scholarship .
Jack Berry introduced two former faculty members : Mary Louise Sexton Newell and Milton Baker and their guests . He also introduced the honor class members and their guests . Committee member Bob Buxton , RV ‘ 66 , then introduced the 31 gradates of more than 60 years .
A business meeting was held , and then “ God Bless America ” was sung in honor of those who
have served in the armed forces . Jeanne Tarrh Kilpatrick , ‘ 63 , accompanied the song .
The 50-50 was won by Bob Kirch , ‘ 65 , and wife Cathy for a total of $ 183 .
Alumni officers for 2022 will be President Monty Tarrh , ‘ 59 ; President-Elect Merel Cooper , ‘ 59 ; secretary / treasurer Bee Buxton Lehner , RV ‘ 66 ; and executive committee Jon Husted , ‘ 57 .
The evening concluded with the singing of the “ Warsaw Alma Mater ,” led by Jeanne Tarrh Kilpatrick and Ann Tarrh Mercer , ‘ 60 .
The honor classes for the 2022 banquet will be 1942 , 1947 , 1952 , 1957 , 1962 and River View 1967 . Any River View graduates who attended Warsaw school are eligible to attend .
