Coshocton Foundation awards several grants

The distribution committee of the Coshocton Foundation had its final meeting of fiscal year 2021 and reviewed 24 grant applications totaling $ 560,222.12 . The committee awarded 12 grants totaling $ 116,055.44 , to numerous community organizations .
The grants awarded include the following :
Coshocton County Agricultural Society : $ 40,000 to assist in attaining ADA compliance with phases one and two of the resurfacing project at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds .
Clary Gardens : $ 28,235 to complete electrical work needed for the new community event venue .
First Step Family Violence Intervention Services Inc .: $ 23,467.32 to assist with the purchase of a laptop and filing cabinet and for maintenance and repairs to the Hope House Shelter to increase safety for victims and their children .
West Lafayette Methodist Church : $ 6 , 500 to assist with providing blessing bags of food to reduce food insecurity for Ridgewood students on the weekends .
Coshocton County Fatherhood Initiative : $ 3,550 to assist with the fathers and families fall festival .
Rogue Elephant Productions : $ 2,600 to assist in producing the free summer 2022 outdoor theater at Clary Gardens .
Hope Hollow : $ 2,500 to provide direct services for Coshocton County cancer patients traveling to Columbus .
Humane Animal Treatment Association : $ 2,500 for spay and neuter assistance and vet clinic voucher program funds .
River View Local School District : $ 2,050 to provide a ukulele set for music classrooms , grades 3-6 , for classroom music .
Coshocton City Schools : $ 2,000 for gifted grades 6-8 Students Leadership & Enrichment at Eastern Ohio Summit .
Memory People Inc .: $ 1,999 to purchase a MacBook Pro .
Coshocton Public Library : $ 654.12 to provide 36 cases for safely circulating mobile hotspots to county residents .
The Coshocton Foundation was established in 1966 through the last will and testament of local merchant Adolph Golden and has distributed more than $ 8.6 million in grants to community organizations from its unrestricted fund . In addition , the foundation has more than 160 restricted funds from which distributions are made for specific purposes . Davidson of Newark elected to the Ohio Farm Bureau board

Paul Davidson of Newark has been elected to the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation Board of Trustees , representing members in District 12 , which is composed of Coshocton , Holmes , Knox and Licking counties . He was elected during a special election by delegates from that four-county area and fills the unexpired term of Jesse Whinnery of Coshocton . Whinnery
stepped down from the Ohio Farm Bureau board earlier this year .
Davidson is a 49-year member of Licking County Farm Bureau and served as its president . He also previously served on the Ohio Farm Bureau board from 2011-18 .
An Ohio State University graduate with a degree in agricultural economics and rural sociology , Davidson produces hay and is a project manager for a local excavating company .
Davidson joins 25 other farmers on the Farm Bureau board who govern the state ’ s largest farm and food organization .
