TUESDAY , SEPT . 28 , 1971 County officials toured the new power plant , located outside Conesville , ahead of its three month test run . Set to begin on the first of October , the plant will run test operations until it begins full operation in January of next year . Expected to put out 800,000 kilowatts per hour , it will feature a water treatment plant on site to ensure the water is not contaminated and can be safely returned to the Muskingum River . SATURDAY , SEPT . 26 , 1981 Mayor Kenneth R . Grier has put in his resignation . In a letter he wrote to his successor , Council President Daniel Moody , “ I have felt it to be a special honor to serve as chief executive for Coshocton . A special thanks goes to the many concerned and dedicated men and women that I have served with the past 25 years for the betterment of our community . Thank you and success to you in the future .” Grier is leaving his office in order to work on his real estate business , but he plans to stay in the Coshocton area . SATURDAY , SEPT . 28 , 1991 River View has claimed its first win of the season , breaking a four game losing streak . Facing Philo , the Black Bears walked away with a 21-18 win after falling behind in the first half . Brad Richard scored all three of River View ’ s touchdowns with Murray scoring the extra point each time . FRIDAY , SEPT . 28 , 2001 Today the 150th Coshocton County Fair opens to the public , and for the first time the digital public . Three SOTA Technologies web cameras will record the midway , which will then be uploaded to coshoctonevents . com . The number of fine arts entries has greatly increased . According to Bryce Browning , who is one of the judges of the category , the quality of the works has also improved . The home arts department has added additional ceramics categories for adults and children with disabilities , although ceramics has fewer entries this year . WEDNESDAY , SEPT . 28 , 2011 A River View junior will soon be releasing a children ’ s book . “ I Did It ! I Promise !” was written by 16-year-old Lauren Fox and will be released Oct . 25 . She has received a number of awards for her writing , but this is her first book . A pre-release party will be held on Oct . 13 at the Coshocton McDonald ’ s .
