COSHOCTON – According to the records Coach Kevin Kittell has pulled together , the Coshocton High School Golf team is having its best year in school history dating back to the early 1990s .
“ They ( Coshocton golf ) were three time state champions ,” he said . “ They won twice in the 70s and once in the 80s . We also had teams go to state in 1994 and 1992 .”
Kittell tried to get detailed records from past coaches , but that just wasn ’ t something they did back then .
“ In the 90s CHS golf started to taper off a little bit ,” he said .
The last time they were represented at state was in 2015 when Gage Bosson qualified as an individual .
“ He was one stroke away from getting All-Ohio ,” Kittell said .
The team ’ s goal this year was to make it to state as a group .
“ We came close last year ,” Kittell said . “ We were district runner ups .”
He believes this year they are approaching the sport
