WHY JESUS , WHY THE CROSS ? As we see and live in a world in turmoil , chaos and confusion are there any sound answers ?

God has not given us different solutions for each of our problems . God has given us one answer and one solution-The cross of Jesus Christ .
In Isaiah 53:6 we see the universal problem of humanity . “ All we like sheep have gone astray ; we have turned , every one , to his own way ; and the Lord laid on Him ( Jesus ) the iniquity ( sin ) of us all .”
We have all gone astray , we have all turned our backs on God .
We see every faction of society blaming , political , economic , global and every other issue on everyone else . The real issue is us wanting what we want and shake our fists at anyone who does not see things our way , when in reality we are shaking our fists in the face of God because we refuse morality and refuse to submit ourselves love and to obey God .
Sounds harsh doesn ’ t it .
The good news is that in God ’ s mercy towards each of us : Jesus was punished on the cross that we might be forgiven .
Isaiah 53:3-5 , “ He ( Jesus ) is despised and rejected by men , A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief . And we hid , as it were our faces from Him . He was despised , and we did not esteem Him . Surely He has born our griefs and carried our sorrows . Yet we esteemed Him stricken , smitten by God and afflicted . He was wounded for our transgressions , He was bruised for our iniquities ; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him , and by His stripes we are healed .”
Jesus was wounded that we might be healed . Isaiah 53:5 , “ And by His stripes we are healed .”
Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might that we might become righteous with His righteousness . Isaiah 53:10 , “ Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him , He has put Him to grief , when You make His soul an offering for sin .” Jesus died our death that we might share His life Romans 6:23 , “ For the wages of sin is death , but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord .” Jesus became poor with our poverty that we might become rich with His riches . God always wants us to have enough to do the will of God in our lives . God wants us to have enough everyday for our own needs and some to to give to others .
2 Corinthians 8:9 , “ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ , that though He was rich , yet for your sakes He became poor , that you through poverty might become rich .” In the Word of God absolute poverty is described with four expressions : hunger , thirst , nakedness and need of all things .
Jesus experienced each of these as He hung and died on the cross . Jesus bore our shame that we might share His glory and Jesus endured our rejection that we might have His acceptance as the children of God . Hebrews 12:2 , “ looking unto the Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith , who for the joy set before Him endured the cross , despising the shame , and has set down at the right hand of the throne of God .” Ephesians 1:5-6 , “ having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself , according to the good pleasure of His will , to the praise of the glory of His grace by which He made us accepted in the Beloved . ( Jesus ).” Matthew 27:46 , “ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice , saying , “ My God , My God , why have You forsaken Me .”
Jesus became a curse that we might receive a blessing .
Galatians 3:13-14 , “ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law , having become a curse for us ( for it is written , “ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree ), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus , that we might receive the promise of the Spirit ( the Holy Spirit ) through faith .” This leaves us with John 3:16 , “ For God so , loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son ( Jesus ) , that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life .”
Pray this prayer , “ Lord Jesus , Thank You for dying on the cross for me . I recognize that You are the true Son of God , sent to earth to pay the
full price for all of our sins . I believe that you were raised from the dead . You are God Almighty , and I surrender to your Lordship . I am sorry that I have lived my life apart from you . Please forgive me for thinking that my life could have true meaning without you . I turn from my sins and choose to follow You . I give You my hurts and fears , my unforgiveness , my pride , my greed , and all the garbage from my past . Thank You that I can start my life over again with You . I ask this in Your name . Amen
