Coshocton Foundation awards 26 grants
The distribution committee of the Coshocton Foundation had its final meeting of fiscal year 2020 recently and reviewed 48 grant applications totaling $ 572,952.94 .
The committee awarded 26 grants totaling $ 184,616.56 , thus expending their total budget for the fiscal year to numerous community organizations .
The grants awarded include :
The Coshocton City Convention and Visitors Bureau , $ 27,214 for Coshocton County promotion essentials for 2021 ; the Jackson Township Fire Department , $ 22,424 to purchase new pagers for firefighters ; the emergency relief fund at the Coshocton Port Authority , $ 20,000 to assist with small business COVID- 19 relief efforts ; Echoing Hills Village Inc ., $ 20,000 to sustain the camping program in light of the impact of COVID-19 ; the West Lafayette United Methodist Church , $ 15,000 for food blessings bags for Ridgewood students in need ; the Village of West Lafayette , $ 10,000 to construct restrooms at Water Works Park ; Kids America Inc ., $ 10,000 to assist in revitalizing Lake Park softball fields for tournaments ;

Coshocton City & County Park District , $ 9,000 for Lake Park Pavilion entrance doors and tree removal ; Coshocton County Drug and Alcohol Council Inc ., $ 5,544 to assist with The Flight School children ’ s behavioral health wing ; the Fellowship of Christian Athletes , $ 5,000 for FCA and more ; Ridgewood Recreation Board , $ 4,679 for its backstop and fence safety project ; West Lafayette Volunteer Firemen ’ s Association , $ 4,000 for modern vehicle accident rescue equipment ; Women of Witness , $ 3,000 for Chestnut Crossing Learning Center upgrades and supplies ; Memory People Inc ., $ 3,000 for the purchase of a new computer ;
Gentlebrook Inc ., $ 2,967 for a wheelchair swing at Lafayette Meadows ; the Coshocton Community Choir Inc ., $ 2,650 to create new workspace for the community choir ; Kno- Ho-Co-Ashland Community Action Commission , $ 2,500 to sterilize equipment for PPE and patient exam supplies ; the Coshocton Public Library , $ 2,409 for its foyer digital display project ; and First Step Family Violence Intervention Services Inc ., $ 2,229.56 for a new computer for the executive director .

Six other grants of $ 2,000 each and one for $ 1,000 also were approved .
The Coshocton Foundation was established in 1966 through the Last Will and Testament of local merchant Adolph Golden and has distributed over $ 8.5 million in grants to community organizations from its unrestricted fund . In addition , the foundation has more than 160 restricted funds from which distributions are made for specific purposes .
