CHS picks up volleyball wins
On Thursday evening , Sept . 8 in the Wigwam , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team defeated Crooksville in straight sets by the scores of 25-14 , 25-9 , 25-9 .
It was a balanced team effort as several ‘ Skins contributed to the victory . The offensive attack was led by Kenidi Jackson , who pounded nine kills , while Jalynn West had five and Lindsay Bryant , Saige Abbott and Addy Gordon each collected four .
Jackson also was the leader at the service line as she served up five aces against the Ceramics . Gordon also had a good night behind the service line as she served up three . Defensively , Miyah Davis had 12 digs for the Redskins .
In the reserve contest , Coshocton dropped a heartbreaker by the scores of 17-25 , 27-25 , 23-25 .
Jaeli Tiedt led the way with four aces and 18 assists . Maggie Laaper had a seasonhigh 11 kills while Sophia McFadden added 10 .
On Tuesday night , Sept . 13 in South Zanesville , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team dismantled the Maysville Panthers in straight sets by the scores of 25-14 , 25-17 , 25-6 .
It was a total team effort with a host of Redskins contributing to the victory . Jalynn West filled up the stat sheet with four aces ,
20 assists and seven kills . Lindsey Bryant led all servers with a season-high six aces and joined West with seven kills for the match . Jackson served up three aces and added five kills . Davis led the defense with eight digs while Leah Mathias added three kills and Gordon added two aces .
In the reserve contest , the JV Redskins picked up the win over Maysville 25-23 , 25-15 .
Tiedt had three aces and eight assists for the Redskins while Laaper and Sophia McFadden each pounded six kills .
Ridgewood
RHS volleyball falls
Ridgewood lost to Claymont by scores of 15-25 , 12-25 and 20-25 .
Kaelynn Robinson had nine digs , three kills and five points ; Kelley Masloski had nine assists and four digs ; Kya Masloski had five blocks , one kill , one ace and two points ; Kadin Belt had nine digs , two aces and two points ; Kaiedence Smith had nine digs and two aces ; Megan Mainwaring had four kills and a block ; and Katelyn Scott had three kills .
Ridgewood then lost to TCC by scores of 25-27 , 13-25 , 25-22 and 13-25 .
The Lady Generals were led by Kaelynn Robinson with 12 kills , 18 digs , one block , three aces and five points ; Kelly Masloski had 23 assists , 11 digs and one block ; Kaiedence Smith had 10 digs , two aces and seven points ; Kadin Belt had 14 digs , one ace and two points ; Megan Mainwaring had eight kills and one block ; Kya Masloski had four kills , two blocks , two assists , four digs and three points ; Skylar Wright had four kills and two blocks ; and Tarryn Yoder had two assists , two aces and seven points . Katelyn Scott had five kills . Ridgewood also lost to Sandy Valley by scores of 11-25 , 2-25 , 30-28 and 17-25 .

River View
RVHS girls golf past Tri-Valley
On Sept . 12 the River View High School girls golf team competed in a match against Tri-Valley at Vista Golf Course .

River View ’ s junior high golf team placed first out of 14 teams at the Mount Vernon Middle School Invitational .
The team results were as follows : River View with 198 and Tri-Valley with 212 .
Individual results for River View were Paige Nicely with 42 ( match medalist ), Caily Shriver with 52 , Chloey Geog with 52 and Kortnee Mickle with 52 .
Kline named medalist
River View ’ s varsity boys golf team fell to New Lex on Sept . 13 by team scores of 186-195 . River View was led by Thad Cox with 44 , Caleb Kline with 41 ( medalist ), Isaiah Carpenter with 52 and Caily Shriver with 58 .
Three Black Bears also played in a tri-match on Sept . 8 . Thad Cox shot a 44 , Caleb Kline a 48 and Isaiah Carpenter a 58 .
Young Bears earn first place
River View ’ s junior high golf team was first out of six teams at Belmont Hills Country Club . Gavin and Colton Gress were co-medalist with both of them shooting a 34 . Other scores for the young Black Bears were Clark Frischen with 40 , Brynn Harstine with 46 , Taylor Harstine with 44 and Makayla Gress with 53 .
The team then beat Sheridan 145-208 . Individual scores were Gavin Gress with 32 , Colton Gress with 34 , Brynn Harstine with 38 , Taylor Harstine with 41 , Makayla Gress with 59 and Addyson Blair with 66 .
They also beat Garaway 157-181 . Gavin Gress had a 33 , Colton Gress a 37 , Brynn Harstine a 44 , Taylor Harstine a 43 , Makayla Gress a 50 and Addyson Blair a 61 .
A Black Bear victory also was picked up against East Canton when River View recorded a team total of 140 . Leading the way was Gavin Gress with 31 , Colton Gress with 33 , Clark Frischen with 37 , Brynn Harstine with 44 , Taylor Harstine with 39 and Makayla Gress with 54 .
