14 • The Beacon See You At The Coshocton County Fair September 22 , 2022

The 2022 Coshocton County Junior Fair king and queen will be crowned during the opening ceremonies held Friday , Sept . 30 at 5 p . m . in Hunter Arena at the fairgrounds . Eight area youth are running for the positions : six young ladies for queen and two young men for king .

Trace Davis

Davis is a senior at River View High School and the Buckeye Career Center , where he is studying ag and diesel mechanics . Davis is an eight-year member of 4-H . Five of those years were with the Active Achievers Club , where he served as secretary , vice president and is currently president . He also is a five-year member of the junior fair board . He has served as secretary , vice president and is currently president of this group .

In addition to 4-H , Davis is a four-year member of River View FFA and a two-year member of the Buckeye Career Center FFA . During his times in FFA , he has participated in career and leadership development events , annual fruit sales and community service and also has a supervised agricultural experience .

Davis is a four-year youth representative to the Walhonding Valley Farmers as well . At Buckeye Career Center , he is a member of the Drug Free Club of America .

Davis was a member of River View ’ s football team for three years but was unable to play his senior year due to concussions . This spring he will be a four-year member of River View ’ s baseball

team . Davis has spent many years playing travel baseball in the summer and has been able to see and experience many areas of the country .

Since the age of 10 , Davis has been employed at Bower Farms . In his spare time , he enjoys cutting wood , wood-working projects , spending time with family and friends , riding four-wheelers , and fixing things . After graduation Davis plans to enter the workforce using the skills he learned in school .

Josey Richard

She is currently a senior at River View High School . She has been in Future Leaders 4-H Club for 12 years . This year she is the president . She has been a 4-H camp counselor for two years . She has been involved in River View FFA for four years and is this year ’ s news reporter .

At River View Hagans has played softball and basketball for four years and has been involved in Leo Club . She also has been a sixth-grade camp counselor for two years .

Outside of school Hagans has been on the junior fair board for four years , junior leaders for two years and Girl Scouts for 11 years . Through 4-H she has taken numerous projects such as horse , beef cattle , market lambs , market hogs , market chickens , market ducks , scrapbooking , genealogy , woodworking and sewing .

After high school she plans to go to college and receive her equine science degree and become an equine breeder .

Lorenz is a senior at River View High School . She is a 13-year member of Above & Beyond 4-H Club , where she holds the office of secretary / reporter . Since her first year showing at the fair when she was 5 , the fair has been one thing she looks forward to every year .

Lorenz has shown horses , market steers , beef feeders , breeding heifers , dairy feeders , market lambs , breeding ewes , market hog / gilt , market goat and market duck . This year she is showing her horse and market hog / gilt .

In 2015 Lorenz was selected as the Coshocton / Tuscarawas lamb and wool junior ambassador . She also is a three-year member on the junior fair board and a fouryear member of the River View FFA , where she built things in the ag shop to take to the fair . This is her third year being a trustee for the Coshocton County Career Center FFA chapter . This is her third year being a trustee for the Walhonding Valley Farmers .

In high school she played volleyball freshman through junior year . She played softball freshman through junior year and will play her senior year . She also is a letterman by playing softball . She was an office aide for two years .

After graduation Lorenz plans on attending a local college to become a vet tech . She lives on her family farm , where they raise beef cattle , sheep and her three horses .
