Tree Farm Field Day will be held on Oct . 1
The Ohio Tree Farm Committee will hold its annual Tree Farm Field Day on Oct . 1 from 9 a . m . to 2 p . m . at Tiverton Timber Tree Farm in Northwest Coshocton County .
The day will include a showcase of a variety of forest-management practices through walking tours , seminars and educational displays . The 2022 Tree Farm of the Year can ’ t
accommodate large groups , so Tiverton Timber will host Field Day this year , and 2022 Tree Farmer of the Year Mike O ’ Neill will be present to talk about his tree farm and the management he has done there .
Events will include forester-led educational hikes with a focus on invasive species control , selection harvesting , salvage harvesting , tree planting and
forestland as an investment ; self-guided hikes ; a visit to an old clearcut with a focus on wildlife management ; a visit to a remediated highgrade harvest ; demonstration of tree felling and a portable sawmill ; a birding hike ; kids activities ; and informational and educational booths .
Seminars scheduled include Deer Management , Forestland as an Investment , Forest Legacy Planning , Navigating the Ohio Forest Tax Law and Current Agricultural Use Valuation Programs , and The Process of Selling Timber .
The event will take place rain or shine , and hiking footwear is strongly recommended . Food and beverages will be available for purchase .
Tiverton Timber Tree Farm is located on Township Road 352 in Brinkhaven in Coshocton County ’ s Tiverton Township . At the intersection of U . S . 62 and state Route 206 , go 1 mile south on 206 , then west on Township Road 352 to the farm . Parking directions will be posted upon approach to the property .

The Annual fire extinguisher inspection for Linton Township owned fire extinguishers will be held on
WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 12 , 2022 AT THE LINTON TOWNSHIP BUILDING LOCATED ON JACOBSPORT DRIVE IN PLAINFIELD FROM 3-6 P . M .
Please Note ! Fire extinguishers owned by Linton Township but kept at Residents homes are eligible for FREE checking , refill , or replacement if necessary . If you are a new resident of Linton township and do not have a township owned fire extinguisher , please stop at the township house during inspection hours to pick up your extinguisher .
In addition , decorations will need to be removed from The Plainfield Cemetery by Monday , October 31st in order for township employees to prepare the cemetery for winter .
