Roscoe Village Foundation offers bow class

COSHOCTON - To help you prepare for your holiday decorating , some of the Roscoe Village Volunteers are having two bow classes . The first class is on Tuesday , Sept . 25 from 6 to 7:30 p . m . and the second class is on Wednesday Oct . 10 from 3 to 4:30 p . m .
Connie Miller , Mary Jane Mitchell , and Kathy Kohler will lead these workshops , which will be held in The Lock Landing at the lower entrance of the Roscoe Village Visitor Center . They will teach you how to make four different bows which can be used for your fall and Christmas decorating .
The tree bow is a simple bow to make and can be used on indoor or outdoor trees or on packages . The shoelace and floral bows teach you how to measure , gather , and twist the ribbon . They look great on packages or decorations . The Roscoe Bow has been used for over 42 years for the lamp post swags in Roscoe . It also works well on wreaths , window sills , garlands , door swags , and large packages . You will be taking home a sample of each of the bows .
Cost for the workshop is $ 13 for non-members and $ 10 for members of the Roscoe Village Foundation . Each class size is limited to 15 . Clary Gardens planning bus trip

COSHOCTON – Clary Gardens is organizing a bus trip to Inniswood Metro Gardens and the 56th annual Ohio Gourd Festival .
The bus will leave Clary Gardens at 8:30 a . m . on Friday , Oct . 5 . The cost of the trip is $ 30 per person which includes transportation and admission .
Deadline to register and make payment is Wednesday , Sept . 26 .
Inniswood Metro Gardens is located in Westerville . It is dedicated to the enjoyment , cultivation and preservation of nature ’ s treasurers . This beautiful garden features more than 2,000 species of plants , specialty collections and themed gardens , including a children ’ s garden , as well as the rose , herb , conifer and woodland rock Gardens . The gourd festival will be held at the Delaware County Fairgrounds and is sponsored by the Ohio Gourd Society . The theme for this year is “ Fall into Gourds .” Food stands will be available for lunch .

Baby photo contest deadline coming up

COSHOCTON - The deadline for the baby photo contest sponsored by the Pregnancy Distress Center is Friday , Sept . 21 , at 4 p . m .
Contestants must be residents of Coshocton County who were born on or after Sept . 30 , 2016 . A photograph , no larger than 4x6 , should be submitted with the child ' s name , date of birth , parents ' names , address and phone number .
The first prize is a gift certificate for a family photo session at Ben Croghan Photography . Second prize is a $ 50 gift card . The public can vote for photos at the distress center ' s fair booth .
