CHS shuts out Sheridan
On Senior Night the Coshocton High School
boys varsity soccer team picked up an MVL win
7-0 over Sheridan.
Luke Ramsey got the rout started with a
header from Zane (corner kick) Bryant early on
in the game. Alec Laaper was up next unassisted.
Patrick Shannon scored the next two. Senior
Brody Hammersley buried one in the net from
an amazing cross by Skyler Dobson. Ayden
Stein hit the sixth goal from way downtown
from Alec Laaper. Senior Adam George rounded
out the scoring with a PK conversion.
Isaac Dickerson made five saves and picked
up his first career shutout in goal.
CHS falls to Meadowbrook
On Thursday night, Sept. 3 in Byesville,
the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team was
defeated by Meadowbrook by the scores of
11-25, 18-25 and 22-25.
The leaders for Coshocton were Ella Bible,
five kills, six digs, two aces and two blocks;
Lindsay Bryant, four kills, 11 digs and three
blocks; Jalynn West, 19 assists; and Miyah
Davis, 13 digs.
In the JV match, Coshocton fell to Meadowbrook
by the scores of 6-25, 25-17 and 17-25.
Savanna Barlett pounded seven kills to lead
the offense while Allison Cox collected six kills
and two aces.
On Sept. 5 in a nonleague matchup, the
Coshocton Redskins volleyball team prevailed
in a five-set match by the scores of 25-21, 28-30,
24-26, 25-20 and 15-11.
Leading the way for the Coshocton offense
was Hailey Helter, who pounded out 16 kills,
while Lindsay Bryant added 14 and Kindall
Shaw had 11.
Defensively, it was Shaw and Helter getting
it done on both sides with 20 digs and 16 digs,
respectively. Jalynn West set up 47 assists for the
Redskins. Bryant and West each served up three
aces to lead the team.
In the junior varsity contest, Coshocton fell
to Indian Valley by the scores of 14-25 and
22-25. Addy Gordon had five kills for the ‘Skins
while Jaiden Arnold added three.
On Sept. 8 at West Muskingum, the Coshocton
Redskins volleyball team picked up an MVL
victory over the host Tornadoes by the scores of
25-14, 25-14 and 25-12.
Senior Kindall Shaw led a strong team effort
as she pounded 11 kills, collected 12 digs and
added an ace serve. Hailey Helter also had a balanced
night with eight kills, eight digs and five
service aces. Lindsay Bryant had seven kills, and
Ella Bible added six for the Redskins’ attack.
Jalynn West set up 25 assists. Also contributing
were Miyah Davis with 10 digs and Belle
Miller with a season-high eight service aces.
In the JV contest, it was Coshocton pulling
out the three-set victory by the scores of 25-12,
20-25 and 25-17.
Lady Generals take two
Ridgewood defeated Hiland on the road by
scores of 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, 24-26 and 15-12.
The Generals were led by Madisyn Colvin,
12 kills, 14 digs and four points; Kassidy
Alexander, 12 digs, three kills, three blocks, 11
points and five aces; Ella Matusik, 38 assists
and 10 points; Paige Slusser, 10 kills, nine digs,
one block, nine points and two aces; Hannah
Maust, nine kills, 16 digs, three blocks and 10
points; and Karissa Gress, five blocks, five kills,
seven points and two aces.
Ridgewood then defeated River View at
Ridgewood by scores of 25-18, 15-25, 27-25
and 25-18.
This time the Generals were led by Hannah
Maust, 18 kills, nine digs, three blocks,
seven points and one ace; Madisyn Colvin, 10
kills, eight digs, three blocks, seven points and
four aces; Ella Matusik, 41 assists, seven digs,
one block, five points and three aces; Kassidy
Alexander, 15 digs, five kills, two blocks, five
points and two aces; Paige Slusser, seven kills,
nine digs, three blocks, six points and one ace;
Karissa Gress, four kills, six digs, three blocks,
three points and one ace; and Lindsay Griffith,
seven digs.
Ridgewood’s JV team won their game.
On Sept. 8 the Lady Generals lost to Tusky
Valley. Scores were 18-25, 10-25 and 22-25.
Ridgewood was led by Madisyn Colvin, six
kills, four digs, four points and one ace; Hannah
Maust, five kills, three blocks and two aces;
Kassidy Alexander, five digs, four points and
one ace; and Karissa Gress, two kills, one block,
four points and two aces.
Ridgewood’s JV team won their game.
Kilpatrick leads Generals
Ridgewood recently picked up a golf win
against Claymont.
The Generals were led by Charlie Kilpatrick,
who was the medalist with a 39. He was
followed by Lexi Zimmer, 48; Cooper King, 50;
Benny Shuck, 52; Zach Evin, 55; and Braden
Bookless, 57.
On Sept. 8 the Generals fell to Hiland, 201-
156. Individual scores for Ridgewood were
Charlie Kilpatrick, 40; Lexi Zimmer, 52; Cooper
King, 53; Benny Shuck, 56; Zach Evin, 58;
and Braden Bookless, 59.
River View
John Glenn tops RV in golf
John Glenn’s boys golf team beat River
View 169-221.
The Black Bear’s individual scores were
Austin Bahmer, 42; Coen Bible, 48; Josh
Woolard, 64; and Thad Cox, 67.
RVHS volleyball rolls past
Maysville in three sets
River View High School’s varsity volleyball
team downed Maysville in three sets by scores
of 25-12, 25-10 and 25-18.
The Black Bears were led by Ashlyn Bible,
seven aces; Cayla Shrimplin, seven digs; and
Kayla Dulgar, seven kills and 11 assists.
