Bible is able to use her sewing skills to help others

Little Dresses for Africa was founded in 2008 . It is a registered , Christian nonprofit 501 ( c )( 3 ) that sends relief to all parts of Africa and many countries beyond through the distribution of little dresses made by volunteers . Their mission is to plant in the hearts of little girls they are worthy .

girls dresses for girls in Africa . She brought me one of her dresses , and I thought , ‘ I can ’ t do this ,’ but I decided to try . When I saw my finished dresses , I realized I could make a pretty , little dress .”
Bible said the dresses are simple and called pillowcase dresses .
“ They take 1,000 dresses at a time and donate them to one place at a time , and a little girl gets a new dress ,” Bible said . “ A lot of these little villages don ’ t have a place to go shopping and get new clothes . I have gotten new bed sheets at Goodwill that still had creases in them and some only slightly used . I get donations . It ’ s phenomenal how people donate money or materials . These little girls love them , and when they

running water like we do , and they don ’ t have bathrooms . A lot of places don ’ t have water , and
they have to carry it for miles . Their clothes are washed in the river . I ’ ve made some for family , friends and some for American Indians , but the majority go to Africa . We also send them three pairs of underwear with a dress . People give me lace , but I can ’ t use it on these dresses because they wash their clothes in the river on rocks . It will tear the lace up . This is what I do , and I love it . It ’ s therapeutic .”
Bible gives her dresses to Irene Krall , who started sewing dresses for little girls several years ago when she saw the story on a morning news program . Krall uses her time and money to send them to Africa . She checks to see if Bible is still good on fabric and materials .
“ She donates and donates ,” Krall said . “ There are so many people that do things like this that don ’ t get recognized . But 20 here , 20 there , five over here , it adds up . It ’ s wonderful . The most I have ever sent was 180 dresses at one time . In three days I can probably make 10 dresses . I ’ ve gotten faster . It ’ s like a production line . I do sewing for people . I don ’ t waste anything , and I don ’ t throw things away . We trade off on that , like give me a pack of needles or some thread . That ’ s all I need , and I have been so blessed . We ’ re not just sending dresses ; we ’ re sending hope .”
