Local sign company , Simple Signs , was purchased and will now be called Simple Signs & Print . The new organization will focus on serving the needs of Coshocton County and surrounding areas .

“ I am excited about this ,” former owner Mike Gross said . “ Not

had a long , white beard . I used to show vegetables in the pumpkin hall and was quite successful — miss those days ,” Shaw said .

“ My mother entered an oil painting of mine . Didn ’ t know I won first place until the check came in the mail . We took the painting off the wall and , sure enough , a blue ribbon , which I still have . She entered it and picked it up after the fair . I got the letter a couple

weeks later , 1957 or 1958 . I still enter at 82 years old ,” David Synder said .

Susan Stalter said she loves the fair . “ I admit that more than once someone would get a stamp and we ’ d lick our hand to transfer the stamp and get in free . I also loved the fancy horse shows and the elaborate outfits that matched the horse and rider . I also remember the Mold-a-Rama wax Disney characters .”

The 4-H barn brings some of Rachel Slaughter ’ s best memories . “ My

only does this mean that this legacy will continue , but I am also very confident the new team will take great care of my customers .”

The new Simple Signs & Print will be housed at 432 Main St . alongside Hasseman Marketing . Briar Swigert will take on the role of general manager in the new organization .

“ I am excited to learn from Mike and to take care of our customers ,” Swigert said . “ I think this will be a great service for the community .”

Simple Signs & Print will focus on printing , signs for small- to medium-sized businesses and work for individuals . This might include business cards , rack cards , invitations , posters , yard signs and more .

My dad had shown rabbits and had to be there most of the day . But toward the end of the day , he ’ d take some time away to ride the Ferris wheel with me . That was literally the high point of my day at the fair .”

With all of the memories shared , Carla Aronhalt summed it up the best . “ My memories of our Coshocton County Fair are a part of my soul . Each year the sights , sounds , smells and efforts of everything that goes into our fair takes me back to my childhood , a time when things were more simple , little things meant more and everyone went to the fair to see and visit with people from the community .”
