Harstine, president of the Baltic State Bank, announced Laura Miller has joined the Baltic State Bank as assistant vice president. Miller has more than 35 years of experience in banking including bank branch management, branch operations, and all types of consumer lending, mortgage lending and commercial lending. Miller will continue to serve the banking needs of the local community with a focus in the lending area. Harstine said, “Laura understands our community and has a great deal of experience helping our local residents achieve their financial goals. Public invited to virtual Women in Business expo Registration to be a virtual exhibitor for the Women in Business expo has now closed, but event organizers are encouraging members of the public to attend this year’s online event, 2020 Vision — Putting Your Business in Focus. The event will take place Oct. 1-31, and attendees will have the opportunity to virtually network with exhibitors and enhance their business knowledge via four online webinars featuring local experts. Elks names essay winners The topic for the 2019- 20 Americanism Essay Contest was “What does freedom of speech mean to me.” There were six winners locally advancing to the district competition. The local competition was sponsored by Coshocton Elks Lodge #376. The Div. I winners (grade 5-6) were Lucy Baylor, Aiden Evans and Graysen Searls from Coshocton Elementary’s sixth grade. Searls and Baylor advanced to districts and finished first and third, respectively. The Div. II winners (grade 7-8) were Lucas Meiser and Sophia Skelton from Coshocton Jr. High’s seventh grade and Ally Fischer from River View Jr. High’s seventh grade. Meiser advanced to districts.
