Even before the current situation, with meat not being as abundant as normal, our hamburger usually would be sold the same day we ground it. Freshness is one of the things we pride ourselves on.” Sugar Valley Meats’ butchers are happy to make specialty cuts for customers while they wait. “For example, we have precut steaks in the store that are three quarters of an inch thick,” Erb said. “If somebody wants a nice, big, thick, inch-and-a-half steak, we can cut that right away for them. We also do a lot of custom butchering and furnished processing for farmers.
