Coshocton County book fair is planned for Oct . 16
Coshocton ’ s Write-On Writers Guild is finalizing plans for its first book fair , to be held Saturday , Oct . 16 from 9 a . m . to 3 p . m . at Frontier Power ’ s community room , 770 S . Second St ., Coshocton . The entrance is facing Whit ’ s Frozen Custard .
There is no cost to enter . Enjoy a variety of books for sale , meet with local authors and do some Christmas shopping .
Cristie Merce , chair of the book fair , said the Write-On Writers Guild is expecting to have about 20 tables of local authors selling their books . “ That ’ s really good for our first time ,” she said .
Merce also said she will be able to accommodate a few more authors , even though the preregistration deadline of Sept . 30 has passed .
To register to sell books , authors can still call Merce at 740-545- 7377 . They would then need to mail her a check for the $ 20 set-up fee , which includes one table , two chairs , snacks , coffee , water and media coverage . Checks should be made payable to Cristie Merce , 58547 Township Road 109 , Kimbolton , OH 43749 .
Each author will autograph their books and collect payment .

Marietta enrolls approximately 360 new students
When in-person classes began for the 2021 fall semester , Marietta College welcomed approximately 360 new students who are studying in one of the more than 50 majors or have chosen to not declare a major . The following students are from the Coshocton area :

One of the many local people who will have a table at the book fair will be Maranda Cress , author of “ Cooking for a Cure !” She also will have merchandise related to her subject of caregivers and cancer patients . All are kitchen-related and include a cutting board , a coffee mug , candles in scents to help settle the stomach , towels and more .
The main thrust of Cress ’ book is to share recipes for entrees , salads , soups and more that are appealing to cancer
