CHS volleyball shares scores
On Saturday , Sept . 24 in a nonleague affair , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team picked up a straight-sets victory vs . East Knox by scores of 25-14 , 25-16 , 25-22 .
Senior leadership was on display for the visiting Redskins as a host of seniors led in several statistical categories . Jalynn West was the assist leader with 24 . Lindsey Bryant led in kills with 11 . Miyah Davis and Addy Gordon led at the service line with three each .
Underclassmen also made contributions as Kenidi Jackson picked up nine digs and four kills while Saige Abbott served up two aces and pounded six kills .
There was no reserve contest .
On Monday , Sept . 26 in The Wigwam , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team defeated Newcomerstown in straight sets by scores of 25-4 , 25-7 and 25-14 .
It was a team effort as many players made contributions .
A balanced ‘ Skins attack was led by Jalynn West , who picked up six kills . Saige Abbott and Kenidi Jackson had five each , and the quintet of Lindsey Bryant , Addy Gordon , Lacey Guthrie , Jaiden Arnold and Leah Mathias each chipped in with three . West was the assist leader with 26 .
On defense Miyah Davis paced Coshocton with 12 while Bryant added six and Abbott added four .
At the service line , it was Lindsey Bryant serving up a career-high 13 aces . Jalynn West had eight , and Addy Gordon served up four .
In the reserve contest ,
the Redskins fell to Newcomerstown by scores of 22-25 and 24-26 .
Maggie Laaper had eight kills and eight digs . Sophia McFadden had five kills and seven digs .
On Tuesday , Sept . 27 in New Lexington , the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team fell to the host Panthers by scores of 21-25 , 21-25 and 22-25 .
Statistical leaders for the ‘ Skins were Jalynn West , who dished out 29 assists to go along with nine digs and four kills ; Lindsay Bryant , who had nine kills and seven digs ; Kenidi Jackson , who collected seven kills and four digs ; and Miyah Davis , who led the defense with 14 digs .
In the reserve contest , New Lex defeated Coshocton in straight sets by scores of 25-10 and 25-14 . Coshocton was led by Jaeli Tiedt with six assists and Maggie Laaper with four kills .
Ridgewood
Volleyball falls to Hiland
Ridgewood lost to Hiland by 10-25 , 7-25 and 22-25 .
The Generals were led by Kaelynn Robinson with 10 kills , nine digs ,
one block , one ace and one point ; Kya Masloski with eight points , three digs , three assists , one kill and one block ; Skylar Wright with 10 digs , one ace and five points ; Anyssa Cutlip with three blocks , two kills and two digs ; Tarryn Yoder with nine assists and six digs ; and Kelley Masloski with six assists and four digs .
River View
Gress named match medalist
River View ’ s junior high golf team won its match on Sept . 26 at Cambridge Country Club .
The Black Bears ’ team score was 148 . Gavin Gress was match medalist with a 32 . Other individual scores were Colton Gress with 36 , Clark Frischen with 39 , Brynn Harstine with 41 , Taylor Harstine with 46 and Makayla Gress with 46 .
On Sept . 28 the team
defeated St . Clairsville with a score of 152 . Gavin Gress was match medalist with a 36 . Colton Gress had a 37 , Clark Frischen a 38 , Brynn Harstine a 47 , Taylor Harstine a 41 and Makayla Gress a 51 . Addyson Blair also competed and added a 61 , and Ty Woodward had a 57 .
The young Black Bears also won on Sept . 27 with a team score of 161 . Gavin Gress again was match medalist with a 34 . Other team scores were Colton Gress with 38 , Clark Frischen with 42 , Brynn Harstine with 47 , Taylor Harstine with 48 and Makayla Gress with 54 .
Cox advances for Black Bears
The high school golf sectional for Div . II was recently held at River Greens Golf Course .
Thad Cox recorded a 77 for the Black Bears and will now advance to districts .

RVHS girls compete at sectionals
On Sept . 27 the River View girls golf team competed in the Div . II Sectionals Tournament at Carroll Meadows .
The top-six teams and top-six individuals not on a qualifying team moved on to the Div . II Districts Tournament at Cambridge Country Club on Wednesday , Oct . 5 . River View ’ s team score was 378 . They placed third out of 17 teams .
Individual scores were Paige Nicely with 80 ( personal record , fourth place overall out of 98 ), Caily Shriver with 95 ( 21st overall out of 98 ), Chloey Geog with 105 ( 38th overall out of 98 ) and Kortnee Mickle with 98 ( 28th overall out of 98 ).
