Fun activities for fall are plenty in Coshocton County

Fall is the perfect time of year to be outside and enjoy all the fun Coshocton County has to offer families . Check the list below for great ways to spend a day outside with your family and friends .
— The scarecrow trail at Clary Gardens is open to the public every day until dark . Wander through the gardens and enjoy the many scarecrows created by local businesses and organizations . This is free .
— Along with the scarecrow trail , residents , businesses and organizations will participate in the annual scarecrow contest . A map will be available online at www . scarecrowtown . com as entries are made . Everyone is encouraged to drive around and then vote for their favorite scarecrow or scarecrow scene .
— The Coshocton Planetarium , located on the fourth floor of Coshocton High School , will present the annual Halloween show , “ Halloween : Celestial Origins ,” on Monday through Thursday , Oct . 24-27 at 6 p . m . and 7 p . m . Have you ever wondered why we dress up , go trick-or-treating or carve jacko-lanterns ? This video tells you where Halloween comes from and all of the fun customs
as well . Shirts and buttons will be sold at the shows . Shirts are $ 15 and buttons are $ 3 . To reserve a seat , visit www . coshoctonplanetarium . com . Costumes are welcome !
— There will be a Fall Festival sponsored by the Coshocton Fatherhood Initiative on Saturday , Oct . 29 at Clary Gardens from noon to 4:30 p . m .
— The River View Music Boosters will present Halloween Showcase , a musical fundraiser , on Saturday , Oct . 29 at Clary Gardens from 6:30- 8:30 p . m . The event is free , but donations would be appreciated . Guests are encouraged to bring their own snacks , but there will be some snacks available by donation .
— The Coshocton Public Library will present Horrifying History of Coshocton at the oldest graveyard in Coshocton . On Monday , Oct . 10 , a repeat of last year ’ s scary stories will be shared , and on Monday , Oct . 31 , a new program will share even more true stories from Coshocton . Both programs will be from 5:45-6:45 p . m . and will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery on North Sixth Street . Register by calling 740-622-0956 or by visiting www . coshoctonlibrary . org . It ’ s time to pick pumpkins , plant mums and enjoy fall activities .

— The Scarecrow Shuffle 5k Run / Walk will be held Saturday , Oct . 29 at 9 a . m . Fall themed costumes are encouraged , and the race will begin at the Coshocton Court Square . Preregistration in open through Tuesday , Oct . 11 , or people may register on race day beginning at 8 a . m . Proceeds will benefit Our Town Coshocton .
— Schumaker Farms will have a fall festival on Saturdays and Sundays from Oct . 1-30 , weather permitting . The festival will be from 11 a . m . to 4 p . m . each day and is $ 10 per person with age 2 and under free . A second zip line for
the kids was added this year . Some activities include Frisbee golf , hamster wheels , a tire playground , corn and straw mazes , huge slides , a corn bin to play in , animals to visit , and hayrides to the pumpkin patch . Pumpkins are 35 cents per pound . Food will be available at the shelter , and fall decorations will be available to purchase .
— Coshocton KOA will hold its fall festival on Saturdays , Oct . 8 , 15 , 22 and 29 . The festival will include live music , food trucks , McPeek ’ s Mighty Maze , pumpkins , a corn box , wagon rides , rat rollers , a jump pad , duck races , craft vendors and more . They also will have Flashlight Nights at the corn maze every Saturday in October . Bring your flashlights and wander the maze in the dark .
— Apple Butter Stirrin ’ will be held Friday , Oct . 21 through Sunday , Oct . 23 in Roscoe Village . This will be the festival ’ s 51st year . The festival is one of the largest festivals to offer homemade apple butter , live music , free crafts for kids , more than 100 craft and food vendors , Spirit Tours and more . Tickets can be purchased online for $ 5 . Gate admission will be $ 8 .
— The 52nd annual Fall Farm and Foliage Tour will be Saturday , Oct . 22 and Sunday , Oct . 23 . This year the tour is a mystery . Maps can be picked up at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds the days of the tour . The hours are 10 a . m . to 5 p . m . on Saturday and noon to 5 p . m . on Sunday . This event is free .
— The West Lafayette Police Department and the Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a Halloween Party for children on Saturday , Oct . 29 from 2-4 p . m . There will be prizes for the best dressed kids . The party will be held in the Ridgewood Middle School gym .
— A Halloweekend will be held Friday through Sunday , Oct . 28-30 in downtown Coshocton and Roscoe Village and will include a pub crawl on the 28th and a shop hop on the 29th . Our Town Coshocton is still planning an event to be held on the 30th . More details will be shared on OTC ’ s website .
— End your fall by welcoming Santa Claus to town on Friday , Nov . 18 . The Miracle on Main Parade will start at the fairgrounds and will travel down Seventh Street to Main Street .

The Coshocton County Vietnam Veterans will be having another wiener roast at Tom Apple ' s Farm . The picnic will be Oct . 8th , 2022 at 2:00 p . m .
The CCVV will provide the hotdogs , buns , and condiments . The rest of the meal will be potluck . Along with dishes to share , please bring your own tableware , beverages , fishing gear , and lawn chairs . Bring your family and friends !
There is a pond for fishing , a paddle boat , room for the kids to play , an outside toilet , and plenty of shade .
A meeting will be held after the picnic for members .
