Junior fair goat show participants have fun showing

The junior fair goat show was held Sept . 30 at the Coshocton County Fair . For many , this was the first year they brought an animal project to the fair while others had worked with goats for years .
Radi , Rogan and Rivi Medley were in the goat barn early that afternoon getting their goats ready to show .
Twelve-year-old Radi Medley was showing goats for the third time . She ’ s had her goat Amora for a year . When asked why she likes goats , she said , “ I like their personality , and they are fun .” She enjoys working with them at home and practices walking Amora often .
The hardest part of showing goats is getting them to stand right . When her goat is being difficult , she said , “ I try to calm her down and give her little pats .”

Radi Medley said she was nervous about showing . “ I don ’ t like to stare at the judges and not look at my goat .”

goat , Archie , for the first time . The 10-year-old said he wanted to show goats because his sister was doing it and he thought it sounded fun . Taking care of his goat includes feeding , practicing walking and trimming his hooves .
He has been practicing with Archie , but he was nervous about the show . “ I gotta get him to stand and set him up .” When asked what he would do if Archie wouldn ’ t walk , he said , “ I ’ ll just tap him on the butt to get him moving .”
Their little sister Rivi Medley was going to participate in the pee-wee fun show . She is 6 , and this is the second year she has been in the show . “ Because it ’ s fun . I like goats , and I
