Betty E . Frye , born on March 13 , 1926 , in Wooster , Ohio , gracefully journeyed through life until her passing on October 26 , 2024 , in Plainfield , Ohio .
Betty was more than just a name ; she embodied a spirit of unwavering dedication , warmth , and a deep love for her family and community .
She spent her entire life nurturing the family farm in Plainfield , a testament to her hard-working nature . Drawing from her education , having graduated from Wooster High School and furthering her studies with three years at Ohio Wesleyan University before completing her nursing degree at Case Western , although Betty was a Registered Nurse , she was a devoted farmer ’ s wife and an extraordinary mother .
Betty ’ s personality was a beautiful blend of determination and kindness . She raised four children , Sharon ( Jim ) Ellis of Plainfield , Paul R . ( Myong ) Frye of St . Pauls , NC , Michael D . Frye of Plainfield , and Larry A . ( Debby ) Frye of Plainfield , with a love that will forever be cherished . Her generosity extended beyond her immediate family ; she took great

A beacon of hope and support , Betty dedicated much of her time to the American Cancer Society , actively contributing to the fight against this disease . Her commitment to helping others in their time of need was just one of the many ways she showcased her caring heart and strength of character .
Betty joins her beloved husband , I . David Frye , her grandson , Cory A . Ellis , parents Glenn W . and Zuilla ( Shook ) Way , and son-in-law Jim Ellis

Per Betty ’ s wishes , a cremation will take place , and a family memorial service will be held on the family farm at a later date .

Kevin Lee Finton , age 61 , of Dresden , Ohio , passed away peacefully on Sunday , October 20 , 2024 . Born on July 28 , 1963 , in Coshocton , Ohio , he is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents , Kenneth and Jan Finton , his infant brother , Craig , and his cherished dog , Gus .
Kevin is survived by the love of his life , Janet Finton . Together , they had a loving family , which includes their children : Ryan Finton , Natasha ( Alex ) Neumann , Tyler ( Caitlin ) Finton , Michael ( Jodi ) Finton , and Emily Finton . He was a proud and devoted papaw to eight grandchildren : Maddox , Lainey , Kaidence , Crosby , Torryn , Nova , Luna , and Huey . His two brothers , Kent and Kurt Finton , were not only his siblings but also his best friends , and he cherished the bond they shared . Kevin is also survived by many beloved nieces , nephews , great-nieces , great-nephews , and dear friends , including Cowboy . He leaves behind his faithful dog , Cruz , and his cat , Midnight Lily , who he claimed he “ didn ’ t want ” but was always seen holding .
A proud graduate of Riverview High School in 1981 , Kevin began his career as an EMT , where he became known for his skill in mending “ booboos .” He was also a part of the successful family business , Finton Equipment Inc ., earning a reputation as a dedicated worker and friend to the community . As president of the local John Deere store , he formed lasting relationships with farmers and their families , becoming a beloved figure in the area .
Kevin enjoyed a variety of hobbies , including fishing , taking road trips , and sharing Gator rides with his grandsons . He loved traveling , especially to the casinos in Las Vegas , and delighted in showing his children the beautiful countryside and
farm animals . A devoted sports fan , he cheered for Ohio State and the Steelers , and had a passion for NASCAR racing . He found joy in simple pleasures , whether it was enjoying a nice cigar or embarking on adventures with his brothers .
Known for his quiet demeanor and quick-witted sense of humor , Kevin had a unique ability to make those around him laugh when they least expected it . His last months were spent with his wife by his side , his grandchildren in his arms , and his dog on his lap .
Calling hours were held on Thursday , October 24 , 2024 , from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Given- Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home , 186 Park Ave ., Coshocton , Ohio 43812 . Burial will be held at a later date .
