Kiwanis Club plans annual Pancake Day

Thousands of pancakes will be served by tons of volunteers during the Kiwanis Club of Coshocton ’ s annual fundraiser on Thursday , Nov . 7 .
“ It is estimated that we will serve 4,000-5,000 pancakes ,” said Shana Miller , incoming president . “ Pancake Day is our largest fundraiser of the year . The money we raise is used to support various programs or projects in our community .”
Pancake Day will be held from 7 a . m . to 7 p . m . at the Coshocton Elks Lodge , 434 Chestnut St .,

“ We start the night before ,” Miller said . “ We set up and get as ready as possible for the morning . The day of the event , we are here as early as 6 a . m . to get the batter started . Our event would not be the success that it is without those who volunteer their time to make it happen , from the very beginning stages of planning to the very end of the night with our cleanup crew . We are very grateful for this community and the willingness to do what it takes to make Pancake Day happen .”
She also appreciates those who sponsor the event .
“ Our sponsors range in size from $ 50- $ 1,000 . The level of advertising of each sponsor depends on the amount given . The more given , the more places we advertise their logo ,” Miller said . “ The sponsors promote and encourage their staff to purchase tickets . They also help by allowing staff to be members of Kiwanis . We have several members whose employers

Miller is looking forward to a day of teamwork , purpose , fun , laughs and camaraderie .
“ When the room is full of people eating and having a good time together , it makes us feel proud of our community and what we can accomplish together ,” she said .
