Our Town Coshocton Christmas tree was planted

A 16-foot live tree was planted near the Rotary gazebo on the Coshocton County Court Square on Friday , Oct . 25 . It will be adorned with Christmas decorations in time for this year ’ s Miracle on Main Parade , scheduled for Friday , Nov . 22 .
“ We are planting a new Christmas tree that will be part of our Christmas celebration for Miracle on Main ,” said Tom Barcroft , president of Our Town Coshocton . “ Previously , we had to scour the county for a tree to be donated each year , and that involved a lot of cooperation . We had Frontier Power help , William Albert Excavating come and set the tree , and others assist . With a live tree , all of that is eliminated , and we ’ ll have it every year .
“ Mike Kobel from Kobel ’ s Landscaping is donating everything . He hunted a tree for us and found this one in Utica . He hauled it here , planted it , and will water , mulch
and sow grass seed around the tree . They ’ re doing the total job for us .

very supportive and very generous toward helping us with our various projects . We also had the cooperation of the county commissioners , as this is their property .”
Beccy Porteus , Our Town Coshocton treasurer , said , “ The county commissioners have been very supportive of us putting a tree on the court square . I would like to mention that the promo committee for Our Town Coshocton is a very active committee , and they are really the workhorses behind Our Town Coshocton . They are the ones that have organized Miracle on Main . We ’ re doing the decorating of the tree , but I would like to thank the promo committee for all the work that they do .”
Barcroft echoed those sentiments and said he wanted to thank all the organizations and people in the community that have helped with the Christmas tree project in the past and continue to support Our Town Coshocton .
The City of Coshocton will lend a hand with a lift to help decorate the tree .
