SUNDAY , OCT . 25 , 1970 J . S . Shaw , chairman of the Coshocton Foundation , has announced that a restoration of the Old Ohio Canal will be part of the Lake Park development project . A cap of $ 46,789 has been placed and bidding for the contract has begun . Running from Ohio 76 to the Mudport Basin , the canal project hopes to give new life to the area . Marshall Jacobs has been tasked with building a boat to run on the canal once it is restored .

SATURDAY , OCT . 25 , 1980 The Malvern Hornets came to West Lafayette , but it was the Generals who did the stinging . 30-7 was the final score , and the Generals hop to a 7-2 record . Jim Lee lead the team with three touchdowns , Guilliams followed with two touchdowns with Kris Lusk and Todd Kohl both scoring touchdowns .
THURSDAY , OCT . 25 , 1990 It ’ s another district championship for the Lady Bears of River View . After beating out Wintersville 15-10 , 15-8 last night they will be running up against Tri-Valley on Saturday . This is their 15th straight trip to the district championship for Warsaw ’ s volleyball team . Rachelle Witkowski led the Lady Bears in scoring with 11 points followed by Amy Donley , Vicki Griffin and Julie Smailes with five points each .
MONDAY , OCT . 23 , 2000 The World Bench Press Championship will be held in the Czech Republic on Dec . 8-10 , and Ralph Young is going to be there . The West Lafayette native has taken 10 state championships and four national championships . “ I like the competition and I want to be the world champ ,” Young said .

WEDNESDAY , OCT . 27 , 2010 Coshocton Collects is an exhibit put on by the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum for Coshocton ’ s Bicentennial . Running till Jan . 2 , the exhibit features keepsakes , memorabilia and antiques from Coshocton County . Pope-Gosser china , Amercan Art Works Coca Cola trays and more will be on display .
