Kiwanis Club of Coshocton is ready to bring back Pancake Day

The Kiwanis Club of Coshocton will bring back Pancake

Day .
“ We look forward to getting people together under happy circumstances , especially after missing last year because of the virus ,” said Jerry Stenner , a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club . “ Money raised supports our local children .”
Pancake Day will be Thursday ,
Nov . 4 from 7 a . m . to 2 p . m . at the Elks Lodge , 434 Chestnut St .
“ I ’ ve always flipped pancakes ,” Stenner said . “ I liked that you got to see people . You saw old friends and made new ones . It ’ s a wonderful day for the Coshocton community .”
Club members did make several changes to the fundraiser in order to protect people from the continued threat of COVID . The event will stop shortly after lunch instead of extending to dinner hours . Members also decided not

to have students from Coshocton High School Key Club come help or sponsor classes from area schools .
“ Not having the students help will be a huge loss ,” said Jessica

Paisley , event chair and club vice president . “ We really depended on them . Schools are a hotbed for COVID , and we want to try to help keep people safe .”
Kiwanis Club member Lyn Mizer said she will miss working with the youth volunteers . “ You get to know these kids , and it renews the sense of that when they become adults , we will be just fine ,” she said .
Tickets for Pancake Day are $ 7 , and those age 3 and younger are free . Purchase tickets in advance on the event Facebook page or purchase them at the door . To-go boxes also will be available .
“ This is a community tradition ,” Paisley said . “ People look forward to this . When you say Pancake Day , people know when it is and who does it . They also know it helps us raise money to give back to children in our community . Not having this last year greatly impacted our ability to give back to the community like we wish we could have .”
The Kiwanis Club of Coshocton is celebrating 100 years of service to the community . Funding from Pancake Day has allowed the club to assist with 4-H , library , Clary Gardens and Kids America programs and many more .
