CHS picks up sectional win
In a girls Division III sectional volleyball opening round match , the Coshocton Redskins picked up a four set victory over Sandy Valley by the scores of : 25-15 , 23-25 , 25-21 , and 25-19 .
Junior setter , Jalynn West , led the ‘ Skin ’ s offensive attack by dishing out 40 assists , to go along with her five kills and two service aces .
West set up a host of Redskin arms led by Lindsay Bryant who pounded 15 kills , Kenidi Jackson who collected nine , Hailey Helter who had eight , and Addy Gordon who banged out six kills for the Red and Black .
The defense was anchored by Miyah Davis who dug up 22 Cardinal attacks , while Gordon added 19 and Bryant and West had 13 and 12 digs respectively . In sectional championship volleyball at the Wigwam , it was the upstart Coshocton Redskins , looking for their first sectional title since 2008 , vs the Hiland Hawks , owners of the last five sectional titles . Hiland could not make it number six , as the Redskins pulled out a thrilling five-set victory by the scores of : 14-25 , 25-21 , 25-20 , 19-25 , 16-14 .
It was a gritty performance by the ‘ Skins , as all seven regular rotation players made significant contributions at critical times in the match . It was the epitome of a total team performance .
Junior setter , Jalynn West ran the offense with 34 assists , and also contributed three kills and two ace serves .
Lindsay Bryant led the team with 15 kills , while Hailey Helter pounded nine , Ella Bible had eight and Kenidi Jackon had six .
The defense was anchored by junior libero , Miyah Davis who kept 24 Hawk attacks from hitting the floor . Bible contributed 17 digs and Addy Gordon chipped in with 14 .
At the net , Helter came up big as she led the team with five blocks including a big stuff late in the match that shifted the momentum clearly in Coshocton ’ s favor .
The victory propels the ‘ Skins ( 17-7 ) to the district tournament where they will match up against Fort Frye ( 22-2 ), champions of the Pioneer Valley Conference .

RHS downs Trail in IVC Showcase Ridgewood defeated Buckeye Trail in the
IVC Showcase by scores of 25-16 and 25-7 .
The Lady Generals were led by : Ella Matusik - 22 assists , four digs , three blocks , two kills , six points , and three aces ; Hannah Maust - seven kills , five digs , two blocks , and four points ; Karissa Gress - seven blocks and three kills ; Kaelynn Robinson - four kills and six digs ; Kerstin Webster - four kills , three blocks ; Kya Masloski - five blocks and two kills .
Ridgewood also defeated Cambridge by scores of : 22-25 , 25-15 , 23-25 , 25-20 , and 15-12 . In this match they were led by : Ella Matusik - 51 assists , 11 digs , five blocks , two kills , eight points , and five aces ; Hannah Maust - 24 kills , 19 digs , six blocks , eight points , and six aces ; Kaelynn Robinson - 30 digs , nine kills , 10 points , and two aces ; Karissa Gress - 13 kills , six blocks , and five points ; Kadin Belt - 14 digs , five points , and one ace ; Kelley Masloski - six assists and two blocks ; Kaiedence Smith - 13 digs and five points ; Kerstin Webster - four kills and three digs ; Kya Masloski - two kills and two blocks ; and Graci Armstrong - eight digs .
Ridgewood then lost to Union Local in the sectional finals by scores of 26-24 , 25-16 , 30-28 , 25-19 , and 17-15 .
The Lady Generals were led by : Hannah Maust - 39 digs , 23 kills , two blocks , 14 points , and three aces ; Ella Matusik - 49 assists , 18 digs , two blocks , three points , and one ace ; Kaelynn Robinson - 22 digs , 18 kills , and seven points ; Karissa Gress - 19 kills , four blocks , three points , and one ace ; Kya Masloski - nine blocks , seven kills , and seven digs ; Kadin Belt - 16 digs , 10 points , and three aces ; Kaiedence Smith - 11 digs , nine points , and two aces ; Graci Armstrong - 14 digs ; and Kelley Masloski - 11 assists .
