SATURDAY , OCT . 22 , 1971 Crooksville came to Warsaw to attend River View ’ s homecoming , and the Black Bears left them a night to remember . Beverly Babcock was crowned homecoming queen at the half as River View led 14-7 , and after she was crowned she watched River View score 10 more points . The game finished with a final score of 24-7 . Terry Albertson led the team in scoring with two touchdowns , a field goal and all three extra points . Mike Berry scored the remaining touchdown . FRIDAY , OCT . 23 , 1981 On Thursday 45 Rolls-Royces rolled through Roscoe . They are part of the Rolls-Royce Owners ’ Club , and they are on tour as part of the Ohio 1981 Vintage Tour , which will last for a week . Their goal is Burr Oak Lake . SUNDAY , OCT . 27 , 1991 CHS , RHS and RVHS all went to the state band competition on Saturday . The Redskins and Black Bears each received an overall rating of excellent , while the Generals received a rating of superior . This is the second time CHS and RHS have gone to the state competition . “ I ’ m in shock ,” said Bob McNutt , “ Ridgewood ’ s band director . We did very well .” THURSDAY , OCT . 25 , 2001 Hellen Keller International aid worker , Anu Shankar has made his return to the United States , and is now a resident of Coshocton . Shankar went to Indonesia to combat malnutrition and prevent blindness ; however , his aid work was cut short when he came down with malaria on Sept . 29 . He decided to move here to Coshocton to be near his sister Lena Crouso , and to continue the work of the Helen Keller International here at home . Shankar and his family were in Indonesia when the Sept . 11 attacks occurred , and on their return trip were met with stricter security measures and suspicion . “ You ’ re very aware as a foreign-looking person , that you are treated differently at borders . That ’ s part of life ,” said Shankar , who was born in Texas . He also said , “ People are very open here ,” referring to his reception by Coshocton . WEDNESDAY , OCT . 26 , 2011 Debra Harper has won the second annual Parktoberfest chili cook-off . The Lebenon , Ohio woman beat out eight other contestants to claim the $ 100 first place prize , which she gave back to River View Park . Warsaw ’ s Adam Fischer and David McCabe of Coshocton finished second and third respectively . “ Everything in this chili came from small family farms , most of them right here in Ohio . The only things that didn ’ t come from Ohio are the pork , it came from Quebec , Canada , and the maple syrup , it came from a small family farm in Wisconsin where they ’ ve been harvesting sap and making maple syrup for over 80 years . I enjoy he focus on farms and organic , nothing unnatural in it . I developed my own recipe by researching . I entered thanks to Steve Prosek , who goaded me into this competition by telling me that I couldn ’ t beat him , so it ’ s a throw down ,” Harper said .
