Dorothy Jane ( Mikesell ) Mizer , 98 , passed Oct . 18 , 2021 , at Altercare of Coshocton .
She was born Oct . 11 , 1923 , in Coshocton , the daughter of the late Herald G . and Helen L . ( Giffin ) Mikesell . She graduated from Union High School in 1941 and Bliss Business College in Columbus . She worked as a secretary in Columbus , California , and Coshocton , over 30 years in insurance as an agent for the Henry Thompson Agency , Thompson- Vanaman Agency , and Jacobs Insurance Agency .
She was an avid golfer and a member of Hickory Flats Golf Course . She also did a lot of work on genealogy projects .
Dorothy was a member of New Guilford United Methodist Church . She married Samuel L . Mizer at the church on Sept . 1 , 1946 , who preceded her in death on Sept . 28 , 2007 .
Dorothy & Sam had two sons , H . Steven ( Patti ) Mizer of Walhonding , and Chrispin L . ( Julie ) Mizer of Roswell ,

GA . She was blessed with six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren , Tom ( Mandy ) Mizer and Samantha of Walhonding , Kimberly Mizer and Elyse & Jocelyn Damron of Columbus , Michelle ( Rob ) Hernandez and Bella & Lilly of Blacklick , Jim ( Christy ) Mizer and Katelyn , Luke , & Drew of Mason , Michael ( Ashley ) Mizer and Parker & Mady of Cummings , GA , and Sara ( Kemp ) Mauldin and Archer , Logan , & Barrett of Canton , GA . She also has one living sister , Imogene Hanes of Walhonding .
In addition to her parents and husband , she was preceded in death by a sister , Lelah ( Mikesell ) Connolly in 1981 ; and two sisters-in-law , Janice Clark and Tyke Mizer .
A private graveside service was held at Valley View Cemetery near Warsaw , where Dorothy was laid to rest beside her husband . The public was invited to Steven ’ s home , 23121 Twp . Rd . 371 Walhonding , OH 43843 ( near New Guilford ), where her family received visitors beginning at noon on Friday , Oct . 22 , 2021 . Carolyn Jane Gorscak , 78 , of West Lafayette , passed away on Wednesday , Oct . 20 , 2021 . She was born May 25 , 1943 to the late Raymond and Caroline ( Dickens ) Dunn .
Carolyn married William Gorscak on Aug . 20 , 1966 , and earned a Master ’ s at Mt . St . Joseph University . She worked as a teacher for the Ridgewood school district for many years and retired in 2000 . She was a former member of the Pandorian Club of West Lafayette , and enjoyed gardening and going on walks with her friends . Carolyn was an avid reader and loved reading all different types of genres .
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years , Bill Gorscak and her nephew , Eddie Zinn .
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents , and sister , Dottie Rae .
Per the family ’ s wishes , a cremation will take place . A graveside service will take place Thursday , Oct . 28 , 2021 , at 1 p . m . at Fairfield Cemetery . Anyone that wants to join is welcome .
