Sandi and Dave Miller bought the former Blue Ridge Grange hall in Orange and turned it into the Orange Event Center .

Dave and Sandi Miller originally bought the former Blue Ridge Grange hall in Orange to try and help keep the group alive . However , the grange had to disband due to lack of membership , so now the building is the Orange Event Center , 23441 State
Route 751 .
“ We wanted to keep going with a place to have socials ,” Dave Miller said .
The building is available to rent for $ 75 per day . There are tables and seating for 60 and a full kitchen in the basement , a dance floor , a meeting space , and a gathering area

“ We want to keep Orange alive and offer the event center for as little expense to people as possible ,” Sandi Miller said . “ We want to see life in the building .”
For an additional cost , the couple also can provide a jukebox and karaoke machine .

Volleyball tryouts are set
Kids America volleyball tryouts will be held Sunday , Oct . 30 and Sunday , Nov . 13 at Kids America .
The Oct . 30 tryouts will be for age 10-12 regional and American levels . They will take place from noon to 2 p . m . Check in at 11:30 a . m ., and a mandatory parent meeting will be at 12:15 p . m . The age 13-14 regional and American levels will have tryouts

from 3-5 p . m . Check in at 2:30 p . m ., and the mandatory parent meeting will be at 3:15 p . m .
The Nov . 13 tryouts are for age 15-18 regional and American levels . They will take place from 9-11 a . m . Check in at 8:30 a . m ., and the mandatory parent meeting will be at 9:15 a . m . This is for high school athletes and eighth-graders who want to play up .

Kids America club fees are $ 725 per player for regional and $ 1,300 per player for American . The fee covers one uniform top and spandex , practice courts , tournament fees , and coach ’ s salary . The cost of OVR membership ($ 67 ), travel cost , food and additional tournaments are not included in the club fee .
