acknowledge it and show up . Addiction is a family disease . It affects every aspect of a family ’ s life . The family has to deal with a lot of resentments from the addict and the things they did to get the drugs . The other side of that is once they get clean , they have to come home , and there is a healing process that has to happen . That is hard on the family , and sometimes they need a little guidance .
“ We start with the individual and get them healed , and then we work with the family . The community gets involved . Going home to the same neighborhood that you came from sometimes isn ’ t always good , and that ’ s why we offer different services
like Sober Living . They have a chance to restore their lives one building block at a time . They ’ re still receiving treatment at the time , and they can get things together . We connect them with resources available in the community so they can restore their lives . It ’ s a beautiful thing to watch someone restore their life and heal and then watch the families heal .”
