Volunteers welcomed to help spread holiday cheer

By Josie Sellers For The Beacon
If you are looking for a way to get into the holiday spirit , the Christmas Elves at Roscoe Village might be the perfect fit .
Volunteers work on projects throughout the year , but right now they are putting together Christmas decorations .
“ It ’ s fun ,” Kathy Kohler said . “ I started helping after I took a bow-making class .”
Diana Swigert , a longtime employee / volunteer for the village landscape department , said the plan is to have all new bows this Christmas .
“ I ’ ve been making bows at home ,” Swigert said .
Kohler ’ s husband Bob is a board member of the Roscoe Village Foundation , and his mother retired from Roscoe Village .
“ They needed a ladder , and then I ended up getting involved in volunteering too ,” he said .
Kathy Kohler said , “ It ’ s very creative , and you get to see people you don ’ t see all the time .”
In addition to the bows , they work on trees , wreaths and garland . They try to be as authentic as possible , using fruits and dried flowers to embellish the decorations .
“ That was always very important to Mrs . Montgomery ,” said Casey

Juni is still patiently waiting for her forever home . She keeps getting overlooked , and we ’ re not sure why . She ’ s such a great cat : the perfect mix of affectionate and independent . Juni is up to date on her vaccinations , spayed , and totally healthy . You can say hello to her anytime at Tractor Supply in Coshocton and also complete an application to adopt .
