Several young ladies are running for canal royalty
The Coshocton Canal Junior Queen Contest will open the Saturday , Oct . 19 events at the annual Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival . Eight kids age 5-9 will compete for the title currently held by Skarlet Powers .
The canal princess and queen contests are the closing events for Saturday . The program will begin at 5

p . m . with the drawing for the winners of the canal cuties contest . Outgoing Princess Kenzie Roach will crown one of the four princess contestants , and reigning Queen Bri Fink will crown her successor from one of the three queen candidates . All contests are scheduled to be held on the main stage in Roscoe .
The rain location is the Coshocton Community Room . Follow Coshocton Canal Royalty on Facebook for any updates during the festival .
Fink will host visiting festival royalty on Sunday , Oct . 20 . Following her luncheon , there will be a group picture in Mrs . Montgomery ’ s Garden at the Roscoe Visitors Center that will include any local participants in the Mayor ’ s Promenade . Those interested in walking should meet in the garden in costume at 2:45 p . m .
