On Wednesday , Sept . 16 , Coshocton County Youth Leadership members and executive director Betsy Gosnell took a tour of Downtown Main Street . The goal was for young leaders to become aware of what ’ s happening right here in Coshocton . If we are connected with influential leaders of the community before we start our careers , we are more likely to stay in Coshocton and instill progress in our hometown .

We met at Hasseman Marketing , where Kirby Hasseman , Nick Schmitt and Tom Barcroft talked about their personal endeavors in Coshocton and gave the history of marketing in Coshocton . Our second stop on our tour of Main Street was with Lyn Mizer and United Way . She explained the history of United Way in Coshocton , as well as the events and programs they are involved with today .

We made our way across the sidewalk to meet commissioners Gary Fisher and D . Curtis Lee at the Progress Building . They explained what exactly they do and the behind-the-scenes aspects

of working in Coshocton . My class and I had no idea our local government is involved in so many aspects of our community .

Valerie Shaw , the director of Coshocton County Coordinated Transportation Agency , also talked with us about her involvement with the community and her agency . Kyle Hamilton , CEO of Home Loan , invited us into the bank , where he discussed the history of Home Loan and its role in this community .

We stopped at Dean ’ s Jewelry , where Michelle Ganz and Cole Moody explained the heritage of Dean ’ s Jewelry , along with some of the exciting things that are happening now with Dean ’ s .

The newest edition to Main Street is Olde Rustic

Finds , where they sell all kinds of antiques , many of which come from Amish Country . We then had a delicious lunch at the Main Street Station , where Walter Bergeron and Tammy Alverson talked about their current endeavor of starting their restaurant . Lastly , during lunch we participated in an Ohio Means Jobs activity to understand what kind of careers are available .

The Linton Township Trustees are offering you the opportunity to have your Linton Township owned fire extinguishers checked for proper operation on Wednesday , October 21 , 2020 from 3-6 P . M .

The fire extinguisher check will be free of charge .

In addition , ALL decorations will need to be removed from the Plainfield Cemetery by October 31 , 2020 in order for the Linton Township employees to prepare the cemetery for the Winter .
