SATURDAY , OCT . 10 , 1970 Queen Amy McConnell saw the Redskins beat back the Knights in 14-3 homecoming victory . Mike Willard scored Coshocton ’ s first touchdown off of gains made by Steve Krebs and Dan Ponton almost as soon as the game began . That trio would again gain CHS its second touchdown , this time it was Ponton who drove the ball into the endzone . After the game Coshocton now sits 2-3 in the season and will face Mansfield next week .


SUNDAY , OCT . 12 , 1980 Tuscarawas Catholic invited the Generals to their home turf and got a 21-0 loss in return . Ridgewood got its fifth win out of it , now sitting 5-2 . Jim Lee ran two touchdowns for the General , and Kris Lusk scored their third .
TUESDAY , OCT . 9 , 1990 CHS ’ soccer team managed to keep their unbeaten record by the skin of their teeth in a match against Philo Monday night . The Electrics held a 2-0 lead by the end of the first half , but thanks to Matt Hartley , Sean McGlone , Derric Matz and the goals they scored the Redskins ended the game 3-2 .
FRIDAY , OCT . 14 , 2000 The MVL Volleyball Championship is once again in the hands of the Lady Bears . 20-0 for the season and 12-0 in the league , the Lady Bears won 15-8 and 15-12 against Maysville . Hayley Markley and Hannah Kanuckel led the team with seven points each and were followed by Karlee Kanuckel and Ashley Hammersley followed up with five .


WEDNESDAY , OCT . 13 , 2010 A white oak was planted on the court square in a ceremony to honor Judge Richard I . Evans . The event was held to honor his 33 years of work on the eighth . Susan A . Metz , court magistrate , gave the dedication saying , “ A wise man once said , ‘ the true meaning of life is to plant a tree under whose shade you do not expect to sit .’ Planting a tree is an act of hope expect ... of optimism ... of belief in the future . So , we gather together today in this beautiful court square for that very purpose .” Judge Evans said , “ Any place where you can come to work in the same location for 33 straight years has got to be something special . This building is a treasure that needs to be preserved , protected and maintained as a source of justice , fairness and the opportunity for people to be heard ,” when he was asked what the court house meant to him .
