OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION
During July , 5 local food business managers completed the 3-day , 16-hour ServSafe ® Manager course to obtain their Manager Certification in Food Protection from the Ohio Department of Health . Emily Marrisonand two other members of the OSU Extension Food Safety team taught this hands-on course which covers topics to create managerial control measure to prevent cross contamination , poor personal hygiene , and other food safety concerns .

BEEF QUALITY ASSURANCE
Re-certification Trainings for Livestock Producers
Coshocton County will be hosting a series of Beef Quality Assurance re-certification programs to allow beef and dairy producers to re-certify their beef quality assurance . Pre-registration is required for each session as space is limited .
Dinner on the Farm was held this year at Porteus Farms . The event was started by the Coshocton County Farm Bureau , and they have allowed the Coshocton County 4-H Endowment Committee to be a partner the last couple years . Many of the local 4-H Clubs contribute baskets to the event for the silent and live auction and the endowment purchases items for the auction as well . The proceeds from the night are split between the Farm Bureau and the 4-H Endowment which are expected to total around $ 7,000 .

61 producers were able to receive their Beef Quality Assurance ( BQA ) re-certification at 2 sessions taught by David in Coshocton and Sugarcreek . 170 producers need to recertify their BQA by the end of year and 4 more sessions are scheduled . Call our office to get signed up for the next training .
David helped to provide management information to producers on the fall armyworm invasion which occurred across Ohio and Coshocton County . This pest ravaged multiple lawns and hayfields across the county .
