Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival is set
Head to Roscoe Village for the 50th year of an annual fall classic — the Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival . This event celebrates the harvest with apple butter stirred over an open fire , heirloom-apple tasting , craft vendors , foods and children ’ s games . The village ’ s center stage will be filled with entertainment all weekend with plenty of bluegrass and folk favorites .
Always held on the third weekend in October when the surrounding hillsides are awash with color , the festival offers lots to see and do as people enjoy the best of fall in Ohio .
The three days of the Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival officially begin Friday , Oct . 15 at 10 a . m . Crafters ’ and artisans ’ booths line the street with handmade items including jewelry , home and garden items , paintings , pottery , and other creative discoveries .
Watch demonstrations of spinning , weaving , broom making and more . Of course , no stroll through the festival would be complete without sampling the assortment of foods , which include home-made apple cider , steak sandwiches , sweet potato fries , cinnamonroasted nuts and kettle corn .

On Friday and Saturday , the Lanterns & Legends Tour will be offered at 7 p . m . On this tour guests can walk through the historic village while listening to tales of the spirited folk who once resided in this canal town . You must make your reservations online for the special tour .
The dates of the 50th annual Apple Butter Stirrin ’ Festival are Friday through Sunday , Oct . 15-17 . The festival runs from 10 a . m . to 6 p . m . on Friday and Saturday and 10 a . m . to 5 p . m . on Sunday .
