“ I ’ m really excited ,” Massie said . “ I always wanted to be fair king . I looked up to a lot of the ones in the past , and some were my

friends and talked about how great of an experience it was .”

They received their titles during a short ceremony held Sept . 27 in the junior fair arena at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds . Tumblin was the only one who ran for queen , but Massie ’ s attendants will be Gage Haines and Cal Shrimplin .

Both Massie and Tumblin have been showing animals at the fair since they were in third grade .

“ I like being at the fair with everyone and all their animals and getting to show all the hard work we did throughout the year ,” Tumblin said .

Tumblin has taken horse , chicken and cattle projects to the fair . “ My favorite memories from the fair are camping there every year and getting together with people

in the dairy and horse barns ,” she said .

Massie shows hogs and feels it is a rewarding project . “ I raise them for six months and work with them every day ,” he said . “ I like seeing the progress you make with them up to the show .”

the fair is the first time he won showmanship . “ It was really exciting to see all my hard work pay off ,” he said .

Massie and Tumblin are looking forward to traveling to as many events as possible and bringing back new ideas to the Coshocton County Fair .

Coshocton County Fair Board President Jason Massie was very appreciative of everyone who came out to support the contestants . “ This year looks different than any other year , but we worked hard to make sure the 4-H and FFA kids could still show their livestock ,” he said .
