CHS and RVHS organize Volley for a Cure game

When Kayla Dulgar , a sophomore volleyball player for River View High School , approached varsity assistant coach Stephanie Snyder about doing Volley for a Cure against Coshocton High School , it wasn ’ t long before the game was on .
“ I always loved to see the girls play as a little girl , and it brings a whole other level of excitement when you are playing for a cause . I am so grateful to do this . I am very happy our seniors get to experience one last Volley , and it ’ s against Coshocton , so that makes it even more exciting ,” Dulgar said .
T h e R i v e r V i e w team sold T-shirts , raffle tickets , gift bags and baked goods . The junior class donated a pumpkin gift bag for raffle , and coach Olinger , the Spirit Club , National Honor Society , the junior high team and the freshman team all donated gift bags and other items for the raffle . Sophomores and seniors made baked goods . Josie Richard made cookies . Sophomores Bree Washington and Elizabeth McGown made signs to hang , put up streamers and decorations around the school , and helped raise money at the bake sale .
Coshocton players Evelyn Hire and Kendall Shaw donated the “ Skins ” bag . Being their senior year , it is the second time they have done this .
“ We ’ re really happy to be a part of Volley for a Cure . It ’ s always so much fun ,” Shaw said .
“ Whatever the outcome , we ’ re glad to be able to do it one last time ,” Hire said .
Both teams were excited to engage in the fight against breast cancer by dedicating one match this season as the Volley for a Cure .
Simultaneously , River View boys soccer JV and varsity teams played Coshocton JV and varsity in Kick for a Cure on the soccer field .
Combined efforts from both teams , student organizations and individuals raised $ 1,500 for breast cancer .
