SUNDAY , NOV . 1 , 1970 The state title is in sight for the CHS cross country team . Next Saturday Coach Bowman and his team will be travelling to the OSU golf course in order to determine the champ . Team Captain Bob Lapp has led the team through the season . A season which has seen Wendell Skelley become district champ and score a new school record of 9:17 . At districts CHS beat out everyone with a score of 39 , a full 45 ahead of the nearest team . Mike Gross came in third , Joe Smith sixth , Kevin Honnald 13th , Mark Ostler 16th , Bill Young 25th and Bob Lapp 61st . All seven runners qualified and will compete at state .
FRIDAY , OCT . 31 , 1980 River View has claimed the sectional title . The Lady Bears took the title Halloween night on their own court . Coshocton was their foe , and the host treated them to a 15-1 , 15-10 loss . Cheryl and Joni Lee led the team with 11 points each . Mast had eight , and Lucy France four . Terri McNeely led Coshocton with three points .
SUNDAY , NOV . 4 , 1990 This weekend the 214th Maintenance Company is holding an exhibit for the community at the fairgrounds where they were originally based . The local National Guard unit was founded 64 years ago , and it has come a long way . Originally a field artillery unit who used horses , now they are fully modernized and taking this opportunity to show off those changes . Communication equipment , computers , CBRN ( Chemical , Biological , Radiological and Nuclear ) gear and their vehicles . The current armory on Otsego Avenue was built in 1935 . They were then changed to a reconnaissance unit and based out of the former landfill on State Route 83 . Not long after they received their current designation and moved back to the Otsego armory .

SATURDAY , NOV . 4 , 2000 Coshocton scored its second ever perfect season , and now the Redskins have taken their first steps towards the playoff . Bloom-Carroll came to Stewart Field , the first time a playoff game has been hosted by CHS , and the Redskins beat them 41-14 . Ricky Ciccone led with three touchdowns , followed by Stoney Nelson who scored two touchdowns off passes and despite a sprained ankle a week ago Bryan Davis scored one touchdown .
WEDNESDAY , NOV . 3 , 2010 On the 27th the Pomerene Center for the Arts hosted a luncheon , which featured a special guest . Guitarist Tim Farrell , renowned for his acoustic skills , attended the luncheon . Since the 80s he has entertained and educated people around the world . Sponsored by Mike Abood and Nick Schmitt , the luncheon was intended to announce the pair ’ s plan to start a preschool music program for the community .
