Our Nest to open on Main Street

When Amy Borton would visit Plymouth , Michigan with her friend , she was always impressed with how busy their downtown was . She also thought it would be nice to see Coshocton ’ s Main Street like that .
Now that Borton is retired from teaching at Coshocton High School , she plans to do her part to help make that happen . Borton will hold a grand opening for her store , Our Nest , on Saturday , Nov . 6 from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m . The new store is located at 526 Main St . in Coshocton .
“ We ’ ve done a lot of work in here ,” Borton said . “ My husband is my handyman , and my friend Amy Shutt helped get me organized .”
Customers will find a mix of vintage and new home décor at Our Nest .
“ My parents dealt in antiques when I was growing up , so I have a love for the old ,” Borton said . “ If people tell me what they are looking for , I will do my best to find it .”
One of her specialty items will be candles poured into vintage tins . The candles are part of the line she is creating for the store .
“ Eventually , I want to get to the point where if you buy one of the old tins , I will refill it for you for a fee ,” Borton said .

noon to 6 or 7 p . m ., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m ., and some Sundays during the holiday season .
“ I ’ d like this to be the type of place people can come find a gift anytime of the year , whether it ’ s for a friend ’ s birthday or even a teacher appreciation gift ,” Borton said .

CHS to host community dinner

On Thursday , Nov . 18 , Coshocton High School will host the 18th annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner . All are welcome .
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , meals will
be available for pickup only this year . There will not be a sit-down dinner served in the cafeteria . A maximum of six dinners per family is permitted . Meals will be delivered to people ’ s cars outside the first-floor GAC entrance ( by the flagpole ) by a CHS volunteer from 5-6:30 p . m .
To help with planning , call the high school and let them know the number of meals you
need . Reservations must be called in by Friday , Nov . 12 in order to receive meals . Call CHS at 740-622-9433 to make a reservation .
