Local Events
Pictures with Santa: The Coshocton County Humane
Society will have Pet Pictures with Santa at Tractor Supply
on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. Two
free wallet-sized photos with a donation of food or litter to
the Coshocton County Humane Society. Other photo sizes
available are one 5x7 for $10 or a three-inch pin back button
for $5.
Village of Warsaw Christmas Celebration: 6 to 9 p.m.,
Sunday, Dec. 1. This year people can enjoy music playing in
the gazebo from 6 to 6:30 p.m. prior to lining the street for
the parade, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. The pa-
rade is open to anyone who wants to come and be involved.

Concert: The University Chorus at The Ohio State University
at Newark will present its autumn concert, “From Classical
to Classic Horror,” on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Found-
ers Hall Auditorium, 1179 University Dr., at the Ohio State
Newark campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Christmas in the Village: West Lafayette will have
Christmas in the Village on Saturday, Dec. 7. The Lions Club
is having a pancake breakfast at the West Lafayette United
Methodist Church from 7:30 to 10 a.m. A Reindeer Run will
be at Burt Park with registration at 9 a.m. and the run at 10
a.m. Registration is $20. There will be a craft show at the
First Baptist Church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Christ-
mas parade begins at 1 p.m. The West Lafayette Royalty are
doing a sensory toy dive and toys can be dropped off at the
Baptist Church.
Bluegrass Music: Three Rivers Bluegrass Music and Relay
for Life Team Alana presents bluegrass music at Coshocton
Village Inn and Suites, 115 N. Water St., on SR 541 beside
McDonald’s, once a month. Admission is $7 per person;
those 12 and under, no charge. Featured band is from 7 –
9:15 p.m. Acoustic jam is 9:30 – 10:30 p.m. For information,
call 740-498-8456. The next event will be Dec. 28 and will
feature a jam session.

Flu Shots: The Coshocton City Health Department, 400
Browns Lane, will have walk-in clinics for flu shots through
the month of November on Mondays, Wednesdays, and
Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. Insurances accepted: Medicare,
Medicaid, Humana Medicare, Aetna Medicare, Medigold,
The Health Plan (Medicare), Medical Mutual of Ohio, Molina,
CareSource and Paramount. The cost for a flu shot is
$25. Please call 740-622-1736 for questions or to make an
appointment if unable to come during walk-in clinic hours.
Tuscarawas Township Meeting: Tuscarawas Township
will have their second meeting for the month of November
on Wednesday, Nov. 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Office Holiday Hours: All the offices in the Courthouse
Annex Building, 349 Main Street, will be closed on Thursday,
Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 in observance of the Thanksgiv-
ing holiday. This includes the County Auditor’s Office, the
County Recorder’s Office, the County Treasurer’s Office,
and the County Map and GIS Office. Regular hours will
resume on Monday, Dec. 2 at 8 a.m.
Shoe Drive: Dr. Don Tupper’s Office, 1529 Walnut St., Co-
shocton, is having a shoe drive. Please drop off your gently
used shoes or socks to their office until Dec. 1. For more

Elks Ceremony: The Newcomerstown Elks BPOE 1515 will
have a ceremony honoring the deceased members of 2019
on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. Call 740-498-6232 to make a res-
ervation. This includes the family and friends of Floyd Gress.
After the ceremony, refreshments will be served.
Free Family Law Clinic: There will be a free family law clinic
for Coshocton County throughout the year. This advice clinic
is for low-income individuals. Sign in is at 1:45 p.m. the day
of the clinic and is limited to 16 qualified individuals. It will be
held at the Coshocton County Juvenile Court, 426 Main St.,
Coshocton. Childcare and additional seating is not available.

Produce Market: The Mid-Ohio Canal Lewisville Church
Produce Market will be Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 9:30 to
10:30 a.m. at the Three Rivers Fire Station, 24199 CR 621, Co-
shocton. Available for free to all families that meet income
guidelines.

CCRPC Meeting: The CCRPC Executive Committee meeting
that was to be Monday, Nov. 11 in the Commissioners
Conference Room at 3:30 p.m. has been cancelled. The next
scheduled CCRPC Executive meeting will be Monday, Dec.

Board of Elections Meeting: Coshocton County Board of
Elections will meet Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m. to conduct
an automatic recount for the Linton Township (Unexpired)
Trustee Race, between Gene Jones and David Scott. Once
the recount is complete, the board will immediately start
the post-election audit. Also, the board has moved its
regularly scheduled meeting that was set for Dec. 10 at 8:30
a.m. to Dec. 19 at 2 p.m.
Pretty Products Dinner: The next Pretty Products dinner
will be at the Eagles on Friday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m.
Toys Accepted: Coshocton County Firefighter Toychest is
accepting new unwrapped toys for low income families in
Coshocton County. Toys can be dropped off a Coshocton Fire
Dept., South 7th St., Coshocton, or Walhonding Valley Fire,
Bridge St., Warsaw. Monetary donations can be mailed to: Toy
Chest, PO BOX 133, Coshocton. Donations are due by Dec. 15.

Board Meeting: Coshocton Metropolitan Housing Authority
(CMHA) will have their next board meeting on Tuesday, Dec.
17 at 5:30 p.m. in the CMHA Learning Center, 823 Magnolia
St., Coshocton. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss
regular business.
Benefits
Spaghetti Dinner Benefit: There will be a benefit for
Sabrena Smith-Weese on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Coshoc-
ton Moose from 3 to 8 p.m. Spaghetti dinner is $6. Dinner
includes spaghetti, bread, salad, drink, and dessert. There
will also be a 50/50 raffle and an auction. Sabrena was
diagnosed with malignant neoplasm of the upper third
esophagus and lung cancer.
Christmas Program: The annual Christmas program and
treat will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at the New Moscow
United Methodist Church.
Snowball Fight: Kids infant through 18 are invited to a snow-
ball fight and pizza party at Chili Crossroads Bible Church,
29445 CR 10, Fresno, Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Fun
games, Bible memory, and snacks. Adults invited to Bible
study with Pastor Neal. Free.
Christmas Hymn Sing: Bible Fellowship Church will host
it’s first Christmas Hymn Sing at River Greens Golf Course
Banquet Hall, 22749 S/R 751, West Lafayette. The singing will
begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Bring your favorite Christ-
mas cookies or refreshments for a time of fellowship.
Fundraiser: There will be a chili dinner at the Elks Lodge,
434 Chestnut St., Coshocton as a fundraiser for Sabastian
Wethy, who is recovering from baby shaken syndrome, from
noon to 6 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a bake
sale. On Sunday, Dec. 15, there will be a pool tournament at
noon with a Calcutta at 1 p.m., $20 entry fee. There will also
be a spaghetti dinner at 1 p.m. and a live auction at 3 p.m.
In the evening, Tyndal Creek Band will play and entry is by
donation. Cookie and Candy Sale: Isleta UMC will have their 13th annu-
al “Christmas Cookie & Candy” sale in the church basement
on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 to 11 a.m. There will be hundreds
of delicious holiday cookies and candies to choose from, and
you can make up your own assortment of favorites. Price
is $6.50 per pound. Isleta UMC is located at 58608 CR 9,
Newcomerstown.
Perry Chapel Upward Sports: Perry Chapel Upward
Sports, 19476 TR 380, Warsaw, will have their first practice
the week of Jan. 6, 2020 and the first game will be Saturday,

perrychapel.com. Chalfant Church Celebration: Chalfant Church will cele-
brate Christ’s birth at the annual Christmas program on
Sunday, Dec. 8. A carry-in dinner will begin at 1 p.m. followed

Schools Closed: Coshocton City Schools will be closed
Thursday, Nov. 28 through Monday, Dec. 2. School will
resume Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Board Meeting: The River View Board of Education next
meeting will be Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. This meeting
will be held in the River View High School Library.
Board Meeting: Coshocton County JVSD will have their next
board meeting in the Board of Education Conference Room,
23640 Airport Rd., on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 a.m.
Pop Tabs: River View High School Teen Leadership Corps
class will be collecting pop tabs to then donate to the Ronald
McDonald Foundation in April. You can send pop tabs to the
school with students or drop them off at the high school,
junior high or the elementary schools including Warsaw,
Conesville, and Keene. The goal is to collect 500lbs of pop
tabs to donate for this foundation. If you have any questions,
